When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart

Al Jawharah is a densely residential area of flats and mid-range villas, where many residents chose window units to save space and upfront cost, especially in smaller and medium housing blocks. These units run at high intensity through the long summer and face dust buildup and coastal humidity, causing drainage, capacitor and noise problems well before total failure.

Al Jawharah is a densely residential southern district of flats and small villas, near the ring road and the coast.

Window units are the primary choice in most small and medium flats in Al Jawharah, usually mounted on street-facing or courtyard windows.

The AC setup in Al Jawharah

  1. 1

    Single window unit per flat

Most flats in Al Jawharah have one or two window units, making central systems unnecessary in the densely packed housing.

  2. 2

Mounted on street-facing or courtyard windows

Units are typically mounted on windows opening to the street or courtyard to ventilate the outer casing and preserve indoor space.

  3. 3

Direct exposure to coastal dust and salt

Proximity to the sea means window units face direct exposure to salt spray and coastal dust, accelerating rust and corrosion.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Jawharah

  1. 1

Clear the space around the window

Ensure the space around the window is clear of furniture and curtains so we can inspect and remove the unit if needed.

  2. 2

Have keys ready and switch off the power

Switch off the circuit for the AC before the team arrives, and ensure we can access the flat if it is locked.

  3. 3

Show us where the unit drains water

If the unit drips or drains water, show us the path and destination so we can assess the drainage system.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

My window unit drips into the room, can you repair it or should I replace it?

We check first the unit's tilt, drain lines and drain valve, often the cause is simple and repairable before replacement becomes necessary.

My flat is small and the window space is tight, can you repair the unit where it sits?

Yes, we repair the unit in place for limited work like coil cleaning or capacitor replacement, but may need to remove it temporarily if full disassembly is needed.

We are close to the sea with high humidity, does this damage window units faster?

Yes, coastal humidity and salt speed up corrosion on metal parts and coils, shortening the unit's life and causing drainage and cooling problems faster.

The unit makes a loud grinding noise, is the motor damaged or can you fix it?

The noise can come from loose belts, a clogged blower wheel or worn isolation mounts, and we diagnose the cause before deciding whether repair is viable.
