When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart

Al Quraini'yah is a diverse residential neighbourhood with relatively old and newer housing alongside mixed-use blocks, wider streets and reasonable courtyards. Window units appear mainly in small residential units and rental flats, many over five years old. Intense heat and seasonal humidity cause varied problems from leaks to noise, but precise service avoids costly replacement. The wider streets make team and equipment access easier.

Al Quraini'yah lies in south Jeddah, a mixed residential area blending older and newer housing with reasonable outdoor space and relatively wider streets.

Window units here are mounted on windows of residential flats at various heights, mostly on ground and first floors of multi-storey buildings.

Units in both old and new buildings

Building diversity means varied fault patterns: older buildings suffer leaks, newer ones compressor issues.

  3. 3

    Drains prone to seasonal blocking

High humidity and dust cause seasonal blocking, especially before and during summer.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

My unit leaks and makes a strange sound, must I replace it?

Not necessarily. The noise may come from a loose fan or blocked drain. We diagnose the problem and fix the defective part.

The street is wide and open, do you bring equipment easily?

Yes, the wider streets here make it easier for the team and equipment to arrive. We agree on the closest parking and visit time with you.

Heat here is intense and humidity is high, do both affect the unit?

Yes, greatly. The combined effect of heat and humidity accelerates rust and mould buildup. Regular cleaning and pre-summer checks are essential.

The unit is on the ground floor, is it easy to access?

Yes, units on lower floors are easier and safer to access. We inspect the unit and drain thoroughly from inside and outside.
