When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart

Al Qurayyat is a spacious residential district with villas and buildings spread across a large area, and many villas have upper windows or units on roofs. Intense heat and dust storms make units prone to rapid clogging and corrosion. Many residents here prefer regular maintenance over replacement, requiring a team unafraid to climb and work at height. Alrabih arrives with safe ladders and tools suitable for roofs and high balconies.

Al Qurayyat sits in south Jeddah, a spacious residential district with villas and buildings spread across open land.

Most units here are mounted on roofs or high balconies of villas and apartment blocks, requiring work at height and safe ladders.

The AC setup in Al Qurayyat

  1. 1

Window unit on high roof or balcony

Most units here are mounted high to avoid lower structures and ground obstacles.

  2. 2

    Tubes exposed to dust storms

External tubes are often fully exposed to wind and sand, making them prone to rapid blockage.

  3. 3

Metal connections prone to coastal rust

Copper and aluminum connections are affected by salt air and high humidity in areas near the coast.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

My window unit is very high on the roof, how do you repair it safely?

We bring safe ladders and protection equipment and climb to the roof carefully. Before the visit, ensure the roof door is safely open and tell us how high the unit is.

Dust storms cover my unit constantly, does this cause problems?

Yes, sand and dust clog the coil quickly and corrode the tubes. Monthly deep cleaning and tube inspection are essential to protect the unit from rapid wear.

My villa is near the sea with very high humidity, does that affect my unit?

Yes, coastal humidity and salt air cause rust on tubes and metal connections. Regular cleaning and wiring checks protect the unit from corrosion.

My unit is very old and spare parts are no longer available, when should I replace it?

If local spare parts are unavailable and the unit is over ten years old and needs repeated repairs, replacement may be cheaper long-term. We inspect it first and tell you the best option.
