When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

Don't see your district?Message us. We most likely cover it.

What sets this district apart

Al Rehab is a developed central Jeddah district with modern flats, small shops and mixed-use buildings. Heat here is high but less extreme than coastal areas without sea salt exposure, and the central location means streets have more shadow than the north. Window units here generally need regular cleaning but repairs are less complex than coastal areas because salt rust and electrical corrosion are less severe.

Al Rehab is in central Jeddah, a residential and commercial zone with medium-width streets and central-city heat.

Window units here vary in age, and common faults are dripping, noise and simple electrical faults rather than heavy rust.

The AC setup in Al Rehab

  1. 1

Relatively modern window units in newer flats

Many Al Rehab flats are newer so units are more modern and less prone to major faults compared to older districts.

  2. 2

Older window units in small commercial shops

Commercial shops in Al Rehab may keep older units for economic reasons, requiring more frequent inspection.

  3. 3

    Mix of electrical connection types

Some units are directly connected and some via breakers, so inspection must cover all types to ensure safety.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Rehab

  1. 1

Switch off and disconnect the power

Before the team arrives, switch off the unit and fully disconnect the power for safe inspection and repair.

  2. 2

Clear the area around the window

Remove any items or furniture that might block the team's access to the window and outdoor unit.

  3. 3

Specify the outdoor unit location clearly

Tell us where the outdoor unit is (on a balcony, exterior wall, etc.) and whether it is accessible from your flat or from outside.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

My unit drips into the room, does this need expensive repair?

Usually not. Dripping typically comes from a blocked drain channel or incorrect unit slope. Simple cleaning and realignment usually fix it without high costs.

Heat in Al Rehab is harsh in summer, is a window unit enough?

It depends on room size and distance from outdoor heat. Modern window units usually suffice for small flats and shops, but pre-summer inspection confirms it runs at full efficiency.

The wiring and connections are old, does this affect unit safety?

Yes. Old wiring can be prone to electrical faults or even fire. Periodic electrical inspection is vital, and if we find worn connections we advise re-wiring or updating before summer.

Are window unit repairs cheaper in Al Rehab than other districts?

Generally yes, because faults here are simpler and less severe than coastal areas. But cost depends on fault type and needed parts. Send a photo via WhatsApp and we will give you an accurate quote.
