When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart

Umm Sidrah is a growing modern neighbourhood of mid-sized villas and apartment blocks, sitting near a hillside region that means exposure to dust-laden and fine sand-heavy winds more than the direct coastal areas. Residents use window units here for flexibility and ease of installation, but fine dust and seasonal humidity build up quickly on coils and bearings. Sound diagnosis determines whether the fault is just debris clogging that needs cleaning or genuine mechanical wear.

Umm Sidrah is in north-east Jeddah, a growing modern neighbourhood near a hillside region with villas and apartment blocks.

Window units here often need frequent cleaning because of fine dust, and drain pipes clog more easily than in other areas.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

My unit always drips water on the floor, is dust the cause?

The fine dust in Umm Sidrah can clog the drain pipe quickly, but the cause could also be wrong unit tilt or a failed condenser. We clean the pipe and inspect all drainage components carefully.

Dust and sand are heavy here, the unit makes a strange noise from outside, what causes it?

Dust might enter the fans and scrape them, or the outdoor unit might not be secured firmly and shifts with wind. We clean the fans and check the mounting carefully.

Umm Sidrah is near the hillside, does humidity differ from the coast?

Yes, hillside winds carry different and less stable humidity than the coast. This causes condensation and temporary blockages at certain times of year.

The team might need to reach a roof or outside the flat, is access safe on villas and blocks here?

We coordinate before the visit to confirm how to reach the outdoor unit, whether on a window, roof or facade, and alert to any hazards or obstacles before starting.
