Who needs a new cold room?

  1. 1

Restaurant or bakery expanding its store

Your current storage cannot hold the quantities you need, or you are relying on domestic fridges that are not up to the job. A purpose-built cold room keeps ingredients at a steady temperature and cuts waste caused by temperature swings.

  2. 2

Pharmacy or clinic needing medical storage

Medicines, vaccines and sensitive medical supplies need a temperature that does not shift when the door opens or when Jeddah's summer heat peaks. We build the room to suit that use and choose the condensing unit after the site survey.

  3. 3

Warehouse or grocery starting from scratch

You are fitting out your premises and want a cold room built in from the start, or you want to convert part of a warehouse into one. The site, the daily stock volume and how often the door opens all shape the right specification, and we work that out with you at the survey.

Who it's for

  • Opening a bakery and need ingredient storage

We survey your allocated space and build a cold room sized to your daily production volume, from insulated panels to the temperature controller.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey

The technician visits, measures the available space and asks about your stock type, quantities and daily use to set the room dimensions and the capacity the unit needs.

  2. 2

    Panels and door

We fit the insulated wall and ceiling panels and seal every joint, then hang the cold room door in its frame and check that the seal presses evenly on all four sides.

  3. 3

    Cooling unit and pipework

We mount the condensing unit where it has enough air, fit the evaporator inside the room, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, fully insulated to reduce heat gain.

  4. 4

    Vacuum, start-up, handover

We vacuum the copper line and test joints before starting the unit, then set the temperature controller and confirm the room reaches the target temperature before handing over.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.

What sets this district apart

Al Buhayrat is a residential and agricultural district in Jeddah's far north with space for large warehouses, farms and wholesale outlets, offering vast floor areas and high roofs. The thermal load here is heavier than other commercial areas because cold rooms may store tons of fresh and frozen goods, requiring more powerful cooling units and better outdoor ventilation. The wide spaces ease installation and maintenance, but electrical supply and water connections must be robust.

Al Buhayrat sits in Jeddah's far north, a sprawling district with warehouses, farms and wholesale operations.

Most large cold rooms here need robust condensing units and long copper runs to carry refrigerant from roofs set far from the room, and warehouses often need more than one cooling unit.

The AC setup in Al Buhayrat

  1. 1

Large-scale cold room with multiple units

Large warehouses here need multi-unit systems to distribute the load evenly and keep temperatures steady throughout.

  2. 2

Robust outdoor unit on high roof

The high roofs and open spaces in Al Buhayrat provide safe placement for a powerful condenser unit away from the main warehouse area.

  3. 3

    Long insulated copper piping

The distance from warehouse to roof can be significant, so we use long insulated copper lines to carry refrigerant without efficiency loss.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Buhayrat

  1. 1

Tell us the warehouse dimensions and height

Send us the length, width and height of the space, how many entrances and exits, and what goods you plan to store.

  2. 2

Confirm team access to the site

Verify the route to the warehouse can accommodate the team van and heavy equipment, and alert us to any obstacles or narrow passages.

  3. 3

Clear roof space for the outdoor unit

Confirm the roof has ample, safe space for mounting the outdoor unit and piping, with good clearance for ventilation around it.

FAQ

Questions about Cold room installation

How is the right cold room size worked out?

Size depends on the type and quantity of stock, how often fresh goods come in and how many times the door opens each day. These factors together set the dimensions and the cooling unit capacity needed, which is why we do not suggest a size before the site visit.

Where does the condensing unit go in a restaurant or warehouse?

The condensing unit needs enough air around it, distance from heat sources and a spot a technician can reach for servicing. We decide the best location at the site survey based on the building layout and how the space is used.

What happens to my stock if the power to the room cuts out?

A well-insulated room with a tight door holds its cold for a limited time if the door stays shut, and longer the thicker the insulation and the better the seal. So we choose the panel thickness and the door seal with care, and set the controller to raise an alarm when the temperature rises, so you can act before stock spoils.

What is the difference between this room and a freezer room?

A chiller room works above freezing and suits vegetables, medicines, dairy and baked goods. A freezer room works below freezing and needs thicker insulation, an insulated floor, a heated door frame and a defrost system. If you need freezing or a combined room, we offer that as a dedicated service.

Can a cold room be installed in a rented space without major structural changes?

In most cases yes. Insulated panels are assembled inside the existing space without demolition or construction work, and the condensing unit is fixed in a suitable spot the technician identifies at the survey. Ceiling type and building ventilation may affect the details, and we confirm those after seeing the site.

I have a large warehouse in Al Buhayrat, can you build a big cold room?

Yes, we install cold rooms of any size. We visit the warehouse to measure the space and calculate the thermal load based on the volume of goods you plan to store, and size the units accordingly.

The warehouse is far from the main road, does that complicate installation?

No problem. We coordinate with you on the best access route for the team and equipment. The open spaces in Al Buhayrat typically make reaching the site and installing the unit straightforward.

Summer heat in Al Buhayrat is intense, does it affect the cold room's efficiency?

Yes, high ambient temperatures and solar radiation increase the load on the unit. We position the outdoor unit where it is shaded or well ventilated, and insulate the copper lines and roof surfaces.

My warehouse power is adequate, but how much electrical capacity does a large cold room need?

It depends on the room size and thermal load. We inspect your existing supply and calculate the requirement before installation. You may need a robust dedicated line from the main panel directly to the outdoor unit and condenser.
