Who needs a new cold room?

  1. 1

Restaurant or bakery expanding its store

Your current storage cannot hold the quantities you need, or you are relying on domestic fridges that are not up to the job. A purpose-built cold room keeps ingredients at a steady temperature and cuts waste caused by temperature swings.

  2. 2

Pharmacy or clinic needing medical storage

Medicines, vaccines and sensitive medical supplies need a temperature that does not shift when the door opens or when Jeddah's summer heat peaks. We build the room to suit that use and choose the condensing unit after the site survey.

  3. 3

Warehouse or grocery starting from scratch

You are fitting out your premises and want a cold room built in from the start, or you want to convert part of a warehouse into one. The site, the daily stock volume and how often the door opens all shape the right specification, and we work that out with you at the survey.

Who it's for

  • Opening a bakery and need ingredient storage

We survey your allocated space and build a cold room sized to your daily production volume, from insulated panels to the temperature controller.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey

The technician visits, measures the available space and asks about your stock type, quantities and daily use to set the room dimensions and the capacity the unit needs.

  2. 2

    Panels and door

We fit the insulated wall and ceiling panels and seal every joint, then hang the cold room door in its frame and check that the seal presses evenly on all four sides.

  3. 3

    Cooling unit and pipework

We mount the condensing unit where it has enough air, fit the evaporator inside the room, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, fully insulated to reduce heat gain.

  4. 4

    Vacuum, start-up, handover

We vacuum the copper line and test joints before starting the unit, then set the temperature controller and confirm the room reaches the target temperature before handing over.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Nakhil is an industrial and agricultural zone in east Jeddah with small and medium food factories, bakeries, poultry farms and storage facilities, mostly in practical industrial buildings with high ceilings and concrete floors. Cold rooms here need high cooling power because the load is heavy and use is continuous, and may need multiple loading and unloading doors. Spaces are larger and streets wider than residential areas, but installation may require building strong concrete pads for the condensing unit. High summer heat and round-the-clock daily use put severe load on equipment, so we choose powerful units and frequent maintenance contracts.

Al Nakhil lies in east Jeddah, an industrial and agricultural zone of food factories and poultry farms.

Industrial cold rooms here typically range from 40 to 100 cubic metres or more, with powerful and sometimes multiple condensing units.

The AC setup in Al Nakhil

  1. 1

    Large multi-purpose industrial cold room

Large food factories and farms choose a 50, 100 cubic metre room for finished products and raw materials storage.

  2. 2

    Powerful condensing units, possibly multiple

Large rooms may need two or more condensing units distributed on the roof or yard to share the load and ensure reliability.

  3. 3

Smart control with power consumption meters

We install an advanced system monitoring temperature and energy use, helping optimise efficiency and maintain records.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Nakhil

  1. 1

Measure the space and yard for the outdoor unit

Send precise dimensions for the room location and yard space available for the condensing unit or units.

  2. 2

Specify the number of doors and their locations

Tell us how many doors you need and where they should be to match your product flow and handling process.

  3. 3

Check main electrical and drainage lines

Identify your main electrical distribution panel and existing drainage pipes, and let us know if new extensions are needed.

FAQ

Questions about Cold room installation

How is the right cold room size worked out?

Size depends on the type and quantity of stock, how often fresh goods come in and how many times the door opens each day. These factors together set the dimensions and the cooling unit capacity needed, which is why we do not suggest a size before the site visit.

Where does the condensing unit go in a restaurant or warehouse?

The condensing unit needs enough air around it, distance from heat sources and a spot a technician can reach for servicing. We decide the best location at the site survey based on the building layout and how the space is used.

What happens to my stock if the power to the room cuts out?

A well-insulated room with a tight door holds its cold for a limited time if the door stays shut, and longer the thicker the insulation and the better the seal. So we choose the panel thickness and the door seal with care, and set the controller to raise an alarm when the temperature rises, so you can act before stock spoils.

What is the difference between this room and a freezer room?

A chiller room works above freezing and suits vegetables, medicines, dairy and baked goods. A freezer room works below freezing and needs thicker insulation, an insulated floor, a heated door frame and a defrost system. If you need freezing or a combined room, we offer that as a dedicated service.

Can a cold room be installed in a rented space without major structural changes?

In most cases yes. Insulated panels are assembled inside the existing space without demolition or construction work, and the condensing unit is fixed in a suitable spot the technician identifies at the survey. Ceiling type and building ventilation may affect the details, and we confirm those after seeing the site.

Our factory runs 24 hours daily, can the room handle continuous heavy load?

We select powerful units matching the room size and expected heat load. We install an advanced control system that balances load and stops the unit when temperature is reached, saving energy and extending equipment life.

How do you bring heavy equipment and large panels to the factory site?

We use suitable transport vehicles and lifting equipment as needed. We check passages and floors in advance and agree on the nearest unloading point before installation.

Fast loading and unloading needs multiple doors in the room, is that possible?

Yes, we can install a room with one large door or multiple smaller doors to speed loading and unloading. We design the openings to match your factory's product flow.

The room is outside the main building, are electrical and drainage lines straightforward?

Long electrical runs and drainage pipes may be needed if the room is far from the main building. We measure the distances and discuss the work and costs before starting.
