When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Andalus is a modern commercial district with tall spacious buildings and shops and restaurants spread across different floors with separate entrances. Display fridges here run at high pace, and the relatively dry air compared to coastal zones reduces internal humidity, but intense summer heat and dust from surrounding roads stress the condenser. Good ventilation around modern buildings helps cool the outdoor units, but regular checks of the fan and condenser are necessary to maintain peak performance.

Al Andalus lies in west Jeddah, a modern commercial zone with tall buildings and restaurants and shops.

Display fridges in Al Andalus are mostly separate small to mid-sized units with external condensers, placed in prominent visible areas of the shop.

The AC setup in Al Andalus

  1. 1

    Separate mid-sized display unit

Restaurants and shops in Al Andalus use separate mid-sized display units with external condensers, easy to install in different locations.

  2. 2

External condensers on roofs or walls

Outdoor units are usually mounted on the roof or building's external wall, relatively protected from direct heat because of good ventilation.

  3. 3

Double cooling systems in large restaurants

Some large Al Andalus restaurants run two or more display fridges, each potentially needing separate inspection.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Andalus

  1. 1

    Contact building management in advance

If the outdoor unit is on the roof or a location needing coordination, confirm building management approval before the visit day.

  2. 2

    Confirm suitable visit times

Restaurants and shops are busy at specific times, so suggest the best visit time away from peak operating hours.

  3. 3

Clear safe space around the fridge

Ensure there is enough clear space around the fridge for the team to work safely without blocking customer flow.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My fridge is on an upper floor, is the outdoor unit hard to reach?

It depends on the outdoor unit location. It may be on the roof or external wall, and we will need to coordinate with building management for safe access.

The building is central with multiple shops, how do you handle servicing?

We coordinate with the building manager and shop owner to arrange the best visit time, and alert you if we need special access arrangements.

The intense summer heat, can the fridge handle it?

Yes, but intense heat increases cooling demand. We check refrigerant pressure, fan and condenser to ensure the unit maintains performance even at extreme temperatures.

Does cleaning the fridge reduce power consumption?

Cleaning the condenser reduces strain on the fan and compressor, lowering power use. We inspect all critical components to ensure the unit runs at high energy efficiency.
