When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Fardous is a modern commercial district concentrated in food shops, cafés and bakeries, with spacious layouts and planned design. Intense heat and coastal proximity increase humidity, making display units prone to glass fogging and rapid cooling loss. Most shops here run long, high-volume hours, so even a few hours of display-unit downtime puts stock and sales at immediate risk.

Al Fardous is in north Jeddah, a high-density commercial area specialising in food and confectionery shops.

Most Al Fardous display units are large-capacity standard cabinets with powerful air-cooled condensers, as shops need dense displays and stable cooling.

The AC setup in Al Fardous

  1. 1

Large-capacity display units with powerful condensers

Al Fardous shops use full-size display cabinets with powerful condensers to meet high display demand and continuous cooling needs.

  2. 2

Display units with enhanced humidity-drainage systems

High coastal humidity forces shops to invest in units with strong drainage systems to prevent accumulation and fogging.

  3. 3

Multiple units with unified cooling lines

Some larger confectionery shops link multiple units to a small central cooling system, requiring unified checks of pressure and performance.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Fardous

  1. 1

Tell us the shop's peak hours

Al Fardous shops are busy all day, so choose a quieter time to let the team work safely and efficiently.

  2. 2

Prepare an obstacle-free zone around the display unit

Ensure there is clear space around the unit, especially behind and above where the condenser and connections are.

  3. 3

Specify the number of units needing inspection

If you have multiple units, specify the exact count and location of each one so we can plan the visit properly.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My display unit fogs up inside even though the compressor is running, what is wrong?

Interior fogging indicates an air curtain seal leak or poor humidity drainage, and we clean the drain and inspect the curtain closely.

Every hour I feel the unit cooling weakens a bit, is this a sign of imminent failure?

Gradual cooling decline usually means condenser dust blockage or a small refrigerant leak, and we pinpoint the problem precisely on inspection.

Humidity in Al Fardous is very high, how do you protect the display cabinet from rust?

We inspect the condenser, pipes and metal parts for early rust and regularly clean accumulated humidity from the unit's base.

When the sun hits the shop, shelf temperatures differ greatly, how do you adjust them?

We measure all shelf temperatures with a digital gauge and adjust cold-air flow levels to ensure equal balance and protect stock.
