When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Naeem mixes modern shops, restaurants and mid-sized cafés, many in shopping centres with open outdoor space and better airflow than downtown Jeddah. Display fridges here put your stock directly in customers' sight under indoor heat, so any fault in the air curtain or fogged glass hits sales and preservation at once. Regular maintenance is essential because heavy daily use strains the condenser and fans.

Al Naeem sits in north Jeddah, a modern commercial district of diverse shops, restaurants and cafés in open centres.

Display fridges here run continuously in better natural airflow, but the intense summer heat increases strain on the condenser.

The AC setup in Al Naeem

  1. 1

Mid-capacity display fridges in restaurants and cafés

Most restaurants and cafés in Al Naeem use mid-sized display fridges with a separate compressor unit outside because of the open space available.

  2. 2

    Tall glass-fronted display cabinets

Tall glass-fronted display cabinets are common in retail shops and cafés to showcase drinks and pastries directly to passersby.

  3. 3

Outdoor compressor units on roof or wall

Compressor units in Al Naeem are often on the roof or outer wall because space is available, allowing better condenser ventilation.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Naeem

  1. 1

Tell us where the outdoor unit is located

Make sure to tell the team whether the outdoor unit is on the roof or an outer wall, and whether there are safe stairs or a platform to reach it.

  2. 2

Clear the space around the fridge before the visit

Move boxes and stacked stock away from the fridge so the team can reach all parts easily.

  3. 3

Switch off the fridge or give the team safe electrical access

Shortly before the visit, switch the fridge off or ensure the team can safely disconnect power from the main switch or plug.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

How often per year do you recommend checking my display fridge?

There is no fixed number, but display fridges used daily as in Al Naeem benefit from a check every three months at minimum to verify the condenser and fans.

The shopping centre gives me limited outdoor space for the unit, does that affect performance?

Yes, airflow around the condenser is crucial. If the outdoor unit sits in a tight space or too close to a wall, the condenser overheats and cools poorly, affecting shelf temperatures.

Jeddah's summer heat is intense, does it cause fogging and glass damage on display fridges?

Yes, the large gap between indoor and outdoor heat increases condensation on the glass, and summer heat puts extra strain on the air curtain to prevent fogging. We check the curtain condition and air vents on every inspection.

Does your inspection include the internal shelves and temperature distribution?

Yes, we measure temperatures across different shelves with specialist tools to confirm even heat distribution; any gap signals a problem in the condenser or fans.
