When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Safa is a densely commercial zone with closely spaced diverse shops, many dairy, pastry and restaurant outlets fitted with multiple display units. Heat and humidity are very high, and shops crowd close together, multiplying cooking fumes, AC discharge and moisture around the chillers. This harsh environment clogs the condenser quickly and cuts shelf cooling, so shops here need intensive, regular servicing.

Al Safa is in central Jeddah, a densely packed commercial zone of dairy shops, bakeries and restaurants in tight clusters.

Most display units in Al Safa are multi-door vertical cabinets, with top condensers directly exposed to cooking fumes and concentrated moisture.

The AC setup in Al Safa

  1. 1

    Multi-door vertical display units

The standard type in Al Safa dairy, bakery and restaurant shops, displaying dairy, cheese and pastries across multiple shelves and doors.

  2. 2

Display units with heavy-duty top condensers

Al Safa's hot, humid environment demands heavy-duty condensers, but that means constant intensive cleaning of the coil.

  3. 3

Drainage systems prone to humidity clogging

Drain lines clog easily in Al Safa because of intense moisture, so they need regular inspection and clearing.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Safa

  1. 1

Clear safe access for the team

Al Safa shops are tightly packed and aisles are often narrow. Make sure the team can reach the unit safely without obstruction from stock or equipment.

  2. 2

Coordinate service timing with the shop

Since the unit is essential for the shop all day, agree with us on a visit time that does not disrupt sales, usually before opening or after closing.

  3. 3

    Check for nearby heat sources

Tell us if the unit sits next to an oven or other heat source, so we can assess whether the location affects performance and suggest improvement.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My unit loses cooling during peak cooking hours, why?

Cooking fumes and intense heat in Al Safa strain the cabinet's condenser. The condenser needs free cool air to dissipate, and at peak hours it cannot, so cooling drops. We inspect and clean the condenser, and may advise relocating the cabinet.

My cabinet's glass steams up daily from the moisture, how do I keep it clear?

Al Safa's high humidity seeps into glass gaps and seals. We clean the seals and drains and check door closure to cut fogging.

Can I place a display chiller next to the oven or espresso machine?

Placing the chiller next to direct heat sources overloads the condenser badly and risks early failure. We advise at least 1.5 metres clearance from any direct heat source.

I have several units close together, how do I maintain cooling for them all?

Units packed too close compete for cool air and cooling drops across all of them. We advise minimum spacing between units and a comprehensive plan covering each cabinet separately.
