When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Sahl is a relatively older mixed residential and commercial area with family groceries, small chains and local cafés amid medium-rise residential blocks. Chillers here are older than in newer districts, stressed by intense heat and seasonal humidity that speed mould and dust buildup. Older shops may lack proper external ventilation, so the chiller needs deeper, regular maintenance.

Al Sahl is in south Jeddah, a relatively older mixed residential and commercial district of small local shops.

Most display chillers here are relatively older models with simple condensers and traditional horizontal air curtains.

The AC setup in Al Sahl

  1. 1

Relatively older display units with simple bottom condensers

Most Al Sahl chillers are older models with simple bottom condensers and traditional air curtains.

  2. 2

Display units with open metal shelves

Some older cabinets still have open metal shelves instead of covered racks, increasing cold loss.

  3. 3

Manual or limited drain water connections

Older units may lack proper drain pipes; drainage may be manual or through a simple pan.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Sahl

  1. 1

Tell us the shop location and main entrance

Al Sahl has similar narrow streets; give us clear landmarks or a shop number to avoid delays.

  2. 2

Ensure access to the outdoor condenser

Check the outdoor condenser is safely reachable, especially if it's on a roof or in a tight spot beside the building.

  3. 3

Clear working space around the chiller

Clear space around the chiller as much as possible of boxes and stock to allow safe, efficient inspection and cleaning.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My chiller is a bit old, does deep cleaning improve cooling?

Yes, deep cleaning the condenser, fans and vents of dust and mould significantly restores cooling efficiency, especially in older units.

My shop is in a narrow side street away from the main road, how do you bring equipment?

We carry tools by hand and plan the route in advance. Call and give us exact directions so we can bring what we need efficiently.

Humidity here is high and mould grows in the chiller quickly, what can I do?

Coastal humidity speeds mould growth. We deep-clean drains and vents and recommend inspecting the chiller every three weeks during high-humidity seasons.

The outdoor unit is in a very tight spot, can you reach it?

We'll work with you to find a safe way in. If it's very tight, we may need to shift some nearby items temporarily with your permission.
