When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Madinat Al Sultan is a relatively developed residential and commercial district with a mix of modern shops, restaurants and small to medium cafés. Buildings here are newer than other southern districts, with reasonable space and better ventilation, but display chillers run at high intensity since customers expect fresh, cold products. Coastal heat and humidity affect condenser efficiency and fogged glass reduces visual appeal, requiring regular inspections and periodic cleaning.

Madinat Al Sultan in south Jeddah is a developed residential and commercial district mixing housing, shops and modern restaurants.

Most display chillers here are medium-sized with three to four shelves, and outdoor condensers are mounted on roofs or back yards with better access than older districts.

The AC setup in Madinat Al Sultan

  1. 1

Medium display cabinets with balanced shelves

Most restaurants and shops here use medium cabinets with three to four balanced metal shelves for mixed product display.

  2. 2

    Roof-mounted condensers with good access

Outdoor condensers are roof-mounted with reasonable access space, not squeezed into tight corners.

  3. 3

    Modern control systems

Modern chillers here have programmable thermostats and precise sensors for even temperature distribution.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Madinat Al Sultan

Tell us exactly where the condenser is, where electrical and pipe connections are, and ensure no obstacles or heavy items are nearby.

  3. 3

    Confirm adequate electrical supply

Check that the electrical connection to the chiller is secure and stable, and the circuit handles the unit's capacity without interruption.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My restaurant is new and the chiller is recently bought, but the glass fogs easily, why?

The air curtain may be weak or the system was not set up correctly initially, so we clean the curtain and check temperature settings for proper operation.

Does the high humidity here affect the outdoor condenser or just the indoor glass?

Humidity affects both, so we clean the condenser of salt and moisture and check internal water drainage to prevent condensation buildup.

The chiller runs long hours daily, does it need special regular maintenance?

Yes, we recommend monthly checks of the condenser, fans, shelves and temperature sensors to ensure stable cooling and extend unit life.

The shop is near the coast, does salt damage the condenser faster?

Yes, coastal salt accelerates metal corrosion, so we recommend weekly condenser, pipe and metal component cleaning in summer.
