Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

  • Renovating home AC and need fittings to match old duct

We measure the existing ductwork in your home and fabricate the branches, transitions and elbows needed to match the original duct without replacing the whole network.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Ala is a developed residential and commercial district in the north-east with new apartment blocks, clinics, offices and some commercial shops, where buildings are modern with planned architectural designs. Most new apartment blocks and commercial buildings invest in a central AC system instead of separate units, requiring unified duct with precise branches. Pre-delivery duct fabrication provides accuracy and speed, ensuring no leakage or measurement errors on site, boosting system efficiency from the start.

Al Ala sits in north-east Jeddah, a developed residential and commercial district with modern buildings and regular layouts.

Most central systems in Al Ala use duct with multiple branches to distribute air evenly in residential units and clinics.

The AC setup in Al Ala

  1. 1

Unified central duct with branches to different units

Residential and commercial buildings here use unified central duct branching to multiple residential units, clinics or offices, providing even air distribution.

  2. 2

Duct in galvanised steel and aluminium

We use G90 and aluminium to specification, both resistant to moisture and corrosion in coastal areas.

  3. 3

Duct with integrated thermal and acoustic insulation

Fabricated duct comes with integrated insulation to reduce heat loss and noise, improving comfort especially in clinics and offices.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Ala

  1. 1

    Send system engineering drawings

Provide complete system drawings including duct routes, levels and dimensions, or we measure the site if drawings are not available.

  2. 2

Map the main unit and branch locations

Confirm the location of the central unit and all branch points to residential units, clinics or offices.

  3. 3

Confirm access to ceilings and passages

Check that false ceilings and passages where duct will be mounted are easily accessible with sufficient free space for installation.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

Is a central system better than separate units for a new apartment block?

Yes, a central system provides uniform air distribution, higher efficiency and better temperature control. Precisely fabricated duct ensures no leakage and markedly boosts system performance.

Can a central system be installed in an existing building or only in new projects?

Installation is possible in existing buildings if false ceilings or adequate duct routes exist. We measure the site and assess compatibility before duct fabrication.

How long does installation take after duct arrives?

It depends on project size and branch count, but fully ready-to-hang duct speeds installation significantly compared to on-site cutting.

Is fabricated duct suitable for clinics and offices or just residential?

Yes, fabricated duct suits all building types including clinics and offices, providing uniform air distribution and precise temperature control.
