Dedicated duct workshop
Duct fabrication in Al Hijaz
In Al Hijaz, east Jeddah, duct fabrication solves the central distribution challenge for new villas and residential blocks. Alrabih's team cuts rectangular and round duct precisely in the workshop, so it arrives ready to hang with no air leakage.

Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?
- 1
A contractor with project-specific sizes
Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.
- 2
Fittings too awkward to cut on site
Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.
- 3
Extending or renovating an existing duct network
You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.
Who it's for
Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes
We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

What the fabrication covers
- Site measure or drawings
- G90 or aluminium duct
- Elbows transitions and takeoffs
- Tight seams to SMACNA
- Labelled sections ready to hang
How we work
How we work
- 1
Take measurements
A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.
- 2
Fabricate sections and fittings
We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.
- 3
Label and prepare for delivery
We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.
- 4
Deliver to site
We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.
Workshop fabrication or site cutting?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensional accuracy | Workshop machines, tight dims | Hand variation on site |
| Complex fittings | Correct elbows and transitions | Distorted, leaking air |
| Seam quality | Tight lock, low leakage | Gaps weaken pressure |
| Site schedule | Arrives ready to hang | Extra time and site noise |
| Salt and humidity | Aluminium where site demands | One sheet regardless |

What sets this district apart
Al Hijaz is a newer district with spacious villas and medium-rise residential blocks, with adequate outdoor space for units and clear internal passages. These newer buildings rely on central air systems that need efficient duct distribution across floors and rooms, and precisely fabricated duct ensures even air delivery and energy savings. Transport from workshop to site is easier here thanks to wider streets and open entrances to modern villas and blocks.
Al Hijaz lies in east Jeddah, a newer district built to a regular plan, with modern villas and residential projects spread across open plots.
Most modern villas and apartment blocks here choose central AC units with distributed duct, rather than separate split systems.
The AC setup in Al Hijaz
- 1
Central AC systems in modern villas
The spacious villas in Al Hijaz benefit from a single central system with duct distributed to multiple rooms.
- 2
Dual-duct layouts in apartment blocks
Mid-rise apartment blocks here often need separate duct runs for different floors, each fabricated precisely in the workshop.
- 3
Complex transitions for corridors and corners
Long corridors and varied corners in modern villas and blocks need complex elbows and transitions that cannot be cut accurately on site.
Before the visit
Before our visit in Al Hijaz
- 1
Provide design drawings or duct passage measurements
Send us design drawings or measurements of internal and external duct passages before the visit, so we fabricate it precisely in the workshop.
- 2
Confirm access for duct transport into the building
Check that doorways and internal passages allow the fabricated duct lengths to enter without bending or damage.
- 3
Identify duct mounting points before the visit
Agree with us on duct mounting points in ceilings or walls, and confirm the structure can bear the load before installation.

FAQ
Questions about Duct fabrication
Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?
Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.
What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?
G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.
Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?
Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.
How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?
Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.
Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?
Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.
Why is fabricated duct better than cutting on site?
On-site cutting cannot hold precise dimensions or produce complex fittings properly. We fabricate it in the workshop to exact measurements, so it arrives ready to hang with no air loss at the joints.
Can you deliver fabricated duct to Al Hijaz sites easily?
Yes, the wider streets and open building entrances in Al Hijaz make transport and installation faster and more efficient than in older districts.
Does fabricated duct save energy in central systems?
Yes, precisely fabricated duct with tight joints reduces air leakage, ensures even distribution, and lowers the unit's load and running costs.
Do you fabricate duct in different materials?
We fabricate both rectangular and round duct from G90 galvanized or aluminium sheet, matched to the design and site requirements.
