Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

  • Renovating home AC and need fittings to match old duct

We measure the existing ductwork in your home and fabricate the branches, transitions and elbows needed to match the original duct without replacing the whole network.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Sahil's buildings are newer and tend toward size and open spaces, hotels, spacious residential flats and commercial centres. This pattern calls for long, complex duct runs with multiple transitions and offsets, and fabricating in the workshop from site measurements or drawings ensures every piece fits precisely with no gaps that cause air leakage.

Al Sahil lies in Jeddah's coastal south, an area of large modern buildings oriented toward hotels and upmarket residential flats.

Most hotels and large flats here use central AC systems with rectangular ductwork because of the wide floor plates and multiple storeys.

The AC setup in Al Sahil

  1. 1

    Rectangular duct with complex transitions

Hotels and large towers in Al Sahil need rectangular duct with multiple offsets and complex takeoffs to cover wide floor plates.

  2. 2

Long duct runs from the central plant room

Long distances from the central plant room to the terminal units in upper floors require duct with calculated cross-sections to maintain air pressure.

  3. 3

Sealed joints with zero air leakage

We connect duct sections in the workshop with high precision so the unit arrives ready to hang with no gaps causing cold air loss.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Sahil

  1. 1

Send the architectural drawings or exact floor plan

For large buildings and hotels, send the architect's drawings so we can fabricate the duct precisely from the workshop before the visit date.

  2. 2

Confirm the central plant room location and terminal points

Tell us where the main cooling unit is and where the air outlets will be on each floor so we can estimate duct length and transitions needed.

  3. 3

    Confirm access routes between floors

Check that the team can reach the pathways between floors and structural columns before installation to ensure smooth duct hanging.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

Do you fabricate duct for large hotel buildings in Al Sahil?

Yes, we fabricate complete duct networks for hotels and large residential towers. We take measurements on site or work from architectural drawings to ensure precise fabrication and perfect fit.

Our hotel is tight between the columns inside, how does the duct fit through?

We fabricate complex rectangular duct with multiple offsets and transitions to thread the runs between columns and structural elements. The duct arrives from the workshop in these shapes ready to hang with no on-site cutting.

Coastal humidity might affect metal duct, is aluminium better?

Both options are available: G90 galvanized resists rust in coastal climates with proper installation, and aluminium is lightweight and an alternative choice. We discuss the best option based on your system type and location.

Does air leakage from duct reduce cooling efficiency in upper floors?

Yes, air leakage from duct gaps reduces pressure and flow to upper floors. Workshop-fabricated duct with tight seams ensures even air distribution without loss.
