Industrial cooling done right

Factory HVAC in Al Muntazah

Factory HVAC in Al Muntazah, east Jeddah, requires a balanced system because machinery heat builds under high ceilings in open space. Alrabih designs cooling and ventilation to protect workers, serve production and fit your maintenance schedule.

When does a factory need a specialist system?

  1. 1

    Machine heat exhausting the workers

Compressors, motors and furnaces push out steady heat that scattered split units cannot handle. We assess every heat source on site and design a system that removes that heat and delivers cooled air precisely where people work.

  2. 2

A high roof that traps hot air

Hot air rises and collects under the roof while workers suffer at floor level. Evaporator positions, airflow angles and unit sizing all depend on the ceiling height and building shape, and the site survey decides each of these.

  3. 3

    Production dust destroying equipment

In wood, metal and plastic factories, coarse dust enters units and damages compressors and coils. We select equipment suited to industrial environments and design air paths that separate cooling air from contaminated process air wherever possible.

Who it's for

  • Building a new factory that needs HVAC

We join at design stage to fix unit positions, duct routes and extraction before the roof is cast and machines are installed, so the system is built into the structure from the start.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Industrial site survey

Our team visits the factory during operation to measure actual heat from machines, map worker zones and critical processes, record ceiling heights and identify possible duct routes.

  2. 2

    System design

We design central plant, distributed units or a combination to suit the factory, and fix the positions of extraction and ventilation units, duct sizes and damper locations before you approve the work.

  3. 3

    Fabrication and installation

We fabricate duct in our own workshop from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, mount units and insulate pipework with Armaflex and Kimmco materials.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and scheduled maintenance

We commission the system, check airflow distribution, refrigerant pressure and damper balance, then set up a preventive and corrective maintenance contract timed to fit around your production shifts.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Muntazah holds light to mid-size industries with vast open spaces and high ceilings; the eastern climate is less humid than the south but hotter and drier. High ceilings make distribution require careful planning, and desert dust fills filters faster than coastal humidity. The system here must run efficiently in dry heat and withstand heavy dust from production lines and the surrounding environment.

Al Muntazah sits in east Jeddah and is known for its cluster of light and mid-size industrial workshops with expansive land.

Most Al Muntazah workshops use package units on roofs or central units with heavy-duty filters to resist desert dust.

The AC setup in Al Muntazah

  1. 1

    Package units mounted on roofs

Small and mid-size Al Muntazah workshops prefer roof-mounted package units for easy maintenance and ground-level access.

  2. 2

    Central systems with dual-stage filtration

Larger factories need central systems with pre-filters and main filters to protect coils from heavy dust in the dry heat.

  3. 3

    Outdoor unit sun protection

Sun-exposed outdoor units need partial screens or shades to reduce heat load and improve condensing efficiency.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Muntazah

  1. 1

Send photos or sketches of your factory roofs

Send us photos showing your workshop roofs and available space for outdoor unit and ductwork placement.

  2. 2

Identify main dust sources in production

Tell us which machines or processes kick up the heaviest dust so we choose the right filter grade and change cycle.

  3. 3

Confirm roof and outdoor space access

Check that the team can safely access the roof and that there is enough space around where the outdoor unit will be mounted.

FAQ

Questions about Factory HVAC

Can you cool just the worker zones without cooling the whole factory?

Yes, and we do it often. We design spot cooling for workstations or worker walkways using independent units or directed duct runs, rather than trying to cool the entire building volume. The right approach depends on the site and the process, and the survey decides it.

How do you handle heavy industrial dust in Jeddah?

We select units with a protection rating suited to the industrial environment and route airflow away from dust sources where the layout allows. In scheduled maintenance we inspect and clean coils, compressors and filters before deposits build up and affect unit performance.

Do you fabricate the large ducts a factory needs?

Yes, in our own workshop we fabricate round and rectangular duct to any size the design calls for, from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, including plenums, transitions and dampers needed to control air distribution.

Can you do maintenance between production shifts?

Yes, when we set up the preventive maintenance contract we agree times that fit your production schedule, whether between shifts or on rest days. The aim is that production lines are never stopped because of maintenance work.

What is the difference between process ventilation and worker-zone air conditioning?

Process ventilation targets heat and fumes produced by machinery and production lines, using exhaust fans and calculated fresh-air inlets sized to the heat load at each source. Worker-zone air conditioning aims to maintain a tolerable temperature at floor level without cooling the full volume of the building. A site survey of each factory decides which approach fits each area.

Desert dust clogs our filters quickly, especially in summer, what do you recommend?

We specify larger-capacity filters with faster changes (weekly instead of monthly) and add a pre-filter to shield the main filter from heavy dust load.

The dry eastern heat is intense, can our unit handle it?

Yes, we select compressors and condenser coils rated for high heat and ensure good ventilation around the outdoor unit to dissipate it.

Does an extra filter significantly increase power consumption?

No, the pre-filter actually reduces overall pressure drop by protecting the main filter from rapid clogging, so consumption stays balanced.

Our outdoor units sit in direct sun all day, does that affect performance?

Yes, direct sun increases cooling load. We install partial screens or shades around the unit to lower its temperature and improve efficiency.
