When does a factory need a specialist system?

  1. 1

    Machine heat exhausting the workers

Compressors, motors and furnaces push out steady heat that scattered split units cannot handle. We assess every heat source on site and design a system that removes that heat and delivers cooled air precisely where people work.

  2. 2

A high roof that traps hot air

Hot air rises and collects under the roof while workers suffer at floor level. Evaporator positions, airflow angles and unit sizing all depend on the ceiling height and building shape, and the site survey decides each of these.

  3. 3

    Production dust destroying equipment

In wood, metal and plastic factories, coarse dust enters units and damages compressors and coils. We select equipment suited to industrial environments and design air paths that separate cooling air from contaminated process air wherever possible.

Who it's for

  • Building a new factory that needs HVAC

We join at design stage to fix unit positions, duct routes and extraction before the roof is cast and machines are installed, so the system is built into the structure from the start.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Industrial site survey

Our team visits the factory during operation to measure actual heat from machines, map worker zones and critical processes, record ceiling heights and identify possible duct routes.

  2. 2

    System design

We design central plant, distributed units or a combination to suit the factory, and fix the positions of extraction and ventilation units, duct sizes and damper locations before you approve the work.

  3. 3

    Fabrication and installation

We fabricate duct in our own workshop from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, mount units and insulate pipework with Armaflex and Kimmco materials.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and scheduled maintenance

We commission the system, check airflow distribution, refrigerant pressure and damper balance, then set up a preventive and corrective maintenance contract timed to fit around your production shifts.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Yusr mixes smaller storerooms, craft workshops and mid-size factories in tighter footprints than the larger industrial zone to the east. The heat comes from less heavy machinery, but cooling and ventilation are still vital for worker comfort and air quality. Most workshops here need a balanced solution rather than a complex central plant, matching efficiency to cost.

Al Yusr sits in north Jeddah as a mixed district of small workshops, mid-size factories and storage units.

Mid-size workshops here typically run two or three outdoor units fed into distributed ducts, rather than one large central plant.

The AC setup in Al Yusr

  1. 1

Two or three outdoor units with distributed ducts

Mid-size workshops here skip a single large central plant in favour of multiple units fed through distributed ducts across the floor.

  2. 2

    Medium-duty filters and basic extraction

Craft workshops carry less heavy industrial dust than large factories, so medium filters with directed extraction ducts suffice.

  3. 3

Simple ceiling or high-wall indoor units

Indoor units sit high above work areas, designed for straightforward air distribution without unnecessary complexity.

Before the visit

Tell us what equipment and heat sources you have

Describe your machinery and processes so we estimate the heat load accurately before design.

  2. 2

Mark outdoor unit locations and safe entry point

Show where you want outdoor units and tell us the closest safe parking for the installation team.

  3. 3

Confirm roof or high-wall access for ducts

Check that ceilings or high walls can safely take ductwork penetrations, and flag any structural obstacles beforehand.

FAQ

Questions about Factory HVAC

Can you cool just the worker zones without cooling the whole factory?

Yes, and we do it often. We design spot cooling for workstations or worker walkways using independent units or directed duct runs, rather than trying to cool the entire building volume. The right approach depends on the site and the process, and the survey decides it.

How do you handle heavy industrial dust in Jeddah?

We select units with a protection rating suited to the industrial environment and route airflow away from dust sources where the layout allows. In scheduled maintenance we inspect and clean coils, compressors and filters before deposits build up and affect unit performance.

Do you fabricate the large ducts a factory needs?

Yes, in our own workshop we fabricate round and rectangular duct to any size the design calls for, from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, including plenums, transitions and dampers needed to control air distribution.

Can you do maintenance between production shifts?

Yes, when we set up the preventive maintenance contract we agree times that fit your production schedule, whether between shifts or on rest days. The aim is that production lines are never stopped because of maintenance work.

What is the difference between process ventilation and worker-zone air conditioning?

Process ventilation targets heat and fumes produced by machinery and production lines, using exhaust fans and calculated fresh-air inlets sized to the heat load at each source. Worker-zone air conditioning aims to maintain a tolerable temperature at floor level without cooling the full volume of the building. A site survey of each factory decides which approach fits each area.

My workshop is fairly small; is factory-scale cooling right for me?

No, we assess your workshop size and equipment first, then design a system that balances efficiency and cost without oversizing.

Do you handle workshops with mixed types of machines and operations?

Yes, we assess different heat sources and design air distribution so each section gets cooling matched to its heat load.

The workshop street is narrow with tight parking; does that affect installation?

We coordinate with you on the best installation time and nearest parking, planning for manual equipment entry if needed.

The workshop shares a building with other shops; how do you handle ventilation without disturbing neighbours?

We route extraction ducts to direct hot air away from neighbouring shops and fit sound damping where the shared wall is thin.
