When your commercial fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Temperature creeping up slowly

The fridge runs but no longer reaches its old temperature. In Jeddah's hot kitchens, grease builds on the condenser quickly, robbing it of the ability to shed heat and straining the compressor. We check the blockage on site and decide what is needed.

  2. 2

    Condenser fan stopped or slowed

The condenser fan draws air across the condensing coil. When it stops or slows, heat rises fast and the compressor cuts out on its thermal protector. We test the motor and the run capacitor and replace what has failed as part of the repair.

  3. 3

    Door gasket not sealing properly

A cracked or burned gasket lets warm, humid kitchen air in constantly. The result is a compressor that never rests, condensation forming inside the cabinet and an unstable temperature. We measure the existing gasket and replace it with the right size for that door.

What sets this district apart

Al Shurooq is relatively new with mixed residential and commercial blocks, and food shops and restaurants are growing steadily. The newer buildings offer better ventilation but commercial fridges here run under high strain in east Jeddah's extreme heat. Coils and fans need careful attention because dust and humidity accumulate even in newer districts. Regular checks and thorough cleaning maintain cooling power and keep stock safe.

Al Shurooq lies in east Jeddah, a rapidly growing area with varied building types and accelerating growth in small to medium food shops and restaurants.

Most newer shops and restaurants in Al Shurooq use upright or chest-type units of medium to large capacity, positioned in limited commercial spaces.

The AC setup in Al Shurooq

  1. 1

Modern upright units with efficient coils

Most newer shops and restaurants in Al Shurooq use modern upright designs, but these still need regular cleaning to maintain their initial efficiency.

  2. 2

Compact chest units for small cafés

Small cafés and shops choose compact chest units to save floor space, with less cold leakage risk but more difficult coil access for cleaning.

  3. 3

Glass-door display units for sweet shops and juice bars

Sweet shops and juice bars use premium glass-door displays, and their gaskets wear fast from constant opening and external heat.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Shurooq

  1. 1

Check ventilation space around the fridge

Make sure there is at least 15-20 cm of clear space behind and around the fridge for proper ventilation before the visit.

  2. 2

Tell us the fridge type and the building's electrical age

In newer buildings, details about the fridge model and its dedicated electrical circuit help us diagnose faster.

  3. 3

    Schedule away from busy periods

Restaurants and cafés in Al Shurooq are busy at certain times. Agree on a visit during quiet hours so customer service is not affected.

FAQ

Questions about Commercial fridge service

My kitchen fridge runs all the time but does not cool enough. What is wrong?

In most cases the condenser is blocked with grease and dust, which is common in Jeddah kitchens where steam and smoke build up fast. A worn door gasket letting warm kitchen air in constantly is another likely cause. We check both on site and tell you which is the problem, or whether both need attention.

Do you service prep counters and under-counter fridges as well?

Yes, our service covers upright fridges, prep counters, under-counter units and bottle coolers in restaurants, bakeries and groceries. We ask for the model in advance so the technician arrives with the right tools and parts for that unit's size and type.

How does Jeddah's humidity affect kitchen fridges?

Warm, humid air enters through any worn gasket and condenses inside the cabinet, raising the load on the compressor and speeding gasket wear. Salt in Jeddah's sea air also corrodes condenser parts over time. That is why we check gaskets and the condenser condition carefully at every service visit.

Can the fridge be repaired without shutting the kitchen down?

For most repairs, yes. Cleaning the condenser and replacing a fan motor or gasket takes the fridge out of service for a short time only. If the repair needs the refrigerant recovered and recharged we tell you the expected time beforehand so you can prepare your stock.

Why does water keep collecting inside my kitchen fridge?

The most common cause is a worn door gasket letting humid kitchen air in, which then condenses on the walls and shelves. A blocked defrost drain at the base of the unit is another frequent cause. We check the gaskets and the drain line on site and identify the problem before starting any repair.

My shop is new and the fridge is new, why is temperature climbing already?

Even new fridges in east Jeddah's extreme heat need regular maintenance. Coils and fans may need cleaning after just months of heavy use.

My shop is near a main road, does traffic dust hurt the fridge?

Yes, dust from busy roads clogs condenser coils much faster. We recommend checks every six weeks and thorough cleaning of coils and fans.

Al Shurooq is scorching in summer, does that strain the fridge more than elsewhere?

Yes, extreme heat and variable humidity in east Jeddah greatly increase strain on the compressor and coils. Monthly checks in summer reduce the risk of sudden failure.

Could the problem be with the electrical wiring in a new building?

Yes, even in new buildings, voltage can be unstable if electrical load is heavy. We check connections and voltage and suggest a solution if we find an issue.
