When you need a medical HVAC specialist
- 1
Hospital or clinic under construction
The right design starts before any duct is installed, because ventilation and filtration needs differ from the surgical suite to the waiting area. An early survey saves costly alterations after the building is finished.
- 2
Departments reporting warm air or odours
In an existing medical building, weak cooling in one department or odours crossing into an adjacent area signals an imbalance in the air distribution or extraction system. Finding the cause needs measurement, not guesswork.
- 3
Maintenance contract for a running facility
A hospital does not close for equipment servicing. We schedule preventive maintenance visits department by department, coordinated with facility management, and carry out repairs with the smallest possible effect on daily operations.
Who it's for
Building a new hospital or medical centre
We survey the building early and design systems to each department's requirements before installation begins.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Survey and requirements
We visit the facility, map the heat loads and air requirements for each department, and agree the duct routes before any design work begins.
- 2
Design and supply
We design the duct network and fabricate it in our own workshop to SMACNA specifications, and supply units from our authorised brands: Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold.
- 3
Phased coordinated installation
In operating buildings we work with management to phase the installation so adjacent departments stay open, and control dust and noise away from patient areas.
- 4
Commissioning and follow-up
We commission the systems, measure airflow in each department, and adjust the dampers until the design requirements are met, then hand over the facility with a maintenance plan.

What sets this district apart
Al Harazat is in inland east Jeddah, a very hot, dry environment with little natural moisture. Hospitals here need a robust system to handle intense, unrelenting heat loads, especially since the day-night temperature swing is steep. Sensitive medical areas like operating theatres and nurseries demand tight humidity control because extreme dryness affects medical equipment and patient comfort. Filters need regular replacement due to airborne dust.
Al Harazat is in inland east Jeddah, a very hot, dry area where hospitals and clinics sit in a desert-like setting.
Most hospitals here have central systems with powerful condensers and humidification to counteract the extreme dryness.
The AC setup in Al Harazat
- 1
Central system with condensers and cooling towers
Al Harazat hospitals use high-capacity air-cooled condensers, sometimes with water-cooling towers to improve overall efficiency.
- 2
Advanced central humidification system
The humidification system runs alongside main cooling and maintains steady humidity levels in care wards, nurseries and operating areas.
- 3
Multi-stage filtration
The filtration system uses a heavy pre-filter, mid-stage filter and final stage to protect coils from dust and airborne sand.
Before the visit
Before our visit in Al Harazat
- 1
Assess system capacity before peak heat season
Schedule an inspection before summer to confirm systems can handle expected heat load and all fans operate efficiently.
- 2
Check filters and condensers for sediment
Before the dusty season, inspect for dirt accumulation on condensers and filters, and plan intensive cleaning or frequent replacement.
- 3
Confirm water supply for cooling towers if present
If the system uses water-cooling towers, ensure the water line is efficient and water quality will not cause scaling.

FAQ
Questions about Hospital HVAC
How do ventilation needs differ across hospital departments?
Ventilation needs vary from one department to the next based on the activity in each area and the requirements set by the facility's designer and the site survey. Operating theatres need highly filtered, directionally controlled air, while patient rooms, corridors and administrative areas each carry different requirements. We build the duct network and select units from the facility's drawings and its specific requirements, not from general assumptions.
Can systems be maintained without stopping sensitive departments?
Yes, but it requires careful planning before the maintenance date. We agree with facility management on a schedule that names the section and the right time window, then isolate the target section using dampers and blanking plates without affecting adjacent departments. Corrective tasks such as replacing a capacitor or repairing a flare joint are carried out within the agreed time window.
What governs duct network design in a medical building?
Design is governed by the approved facility drawings and each department's requirements as defined by the site survey and the specialist designer. We fabricate ducts in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to project dimensions, and use Kimmco and Armaflex insulation with Foster sealants to control leakage. Distribution and pressure in each section follow the specifications drawn for that department individually.

Do you work with small clinics or only hospitals?
We work with medical facilities of all sizes, from a clinic in a residential district to a multi-storey medical complex. The size of the facility does not change the principle: the site survey is the starting point, and from it we determine unit types, duct dimensions and fresh-air requirements for each zone. Preventive and corrective maintenance contracts are available for clinics and hospitals alike.
Severe and sustained heat affects equipment performance, how do you ensure stable operation?
We specify equipment with high thermal ratings and install auxiliary cooling fans on outdoor units. Monthly maintenance is essential to keep performance steady.
Dust and sand enter the system easily, how do you protect it?
We fit heavy-duty pre-filters on the air intake and clean filters weekly or more often as needed.
Extreme dryness affects operating theatres and nurseries, does the system improve humidity?
We install central humidification that works with the main system to achieve 45, 55 per cent humidity in medical areas.
The day-night temperature swing is large, does this affect pipes and coils?
Yes, rapid expansion and contraction requires flexible mounting. We use heavily insulated piping with extra flex and supports that allow movement.
