When you need a medical HVAC specialist

  1. 1

    Hospital or clinic under construction

The right design starts before any duct is installed, because ventilation and filtration needs differ from the surgical suite to the waiting area. An early survey saves costly alterations after the building is finished.

  2. 2

Departments reporting warm air or odours

In an existing medical building, weak cooling in one department or odours crossing into an adjacent area signals an imbalance in the air distribution or extraction system. Finding the cause needs measurement, not guesswork.

  3. 3

Maintenance contract for a running facility

A hospital does not close for equipment servicing. We schedule preventive maintenance visits department by department, coordinated with facility management, and carry out repairs with the smallest possible effect on daily operations.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Survey and requirements

We visit the facility, map the heat loads and air requirements for each department, and agree the duct routes before any design work begins.

  2. 2

    Design and supply

We design the duct network and fabricate it in our own workshop to SMACNA specifications, and supply units from our authorised brands: Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold.

  3. 3

    Phased coordinated installation

In operating buildings we work with management to phase the installation so adjacent departments stay open, and control dust and noise away from patient areas.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and follow-up

We commission the systems, measure airflow in each department, and adjust the dampers until the design requirements are met, then hand over the facility with a maintenance plan.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Mustaqbal is a growing area south Jeddah with relatively contemporary buildings and regular spaces, housing small and medium clinics and hospitals with diverse departments including general surgeries, labs and medicine stores. Buildings meet fairly modern standards with regular interior spaces and adequate roof space for outdoor units. Cooling here is vital for medical equipment, samples and medicines requiring stable temperature and humidity. Maintenance needs coordination with medical management to prevent cooling gaps during working hours.

Al Mustaqbal sits in south Jeddah, a growing area with small clinics and hospitals in relatively contemporary buildings.

Most small clinics and hospitals here use multi-split units or simple central cooling with separate control zones.

The AC setup in Al Mustaqbal

  1. 1

    Multi-split with control zones

Medium-sized clinics need multiple units so each section (surgery, lab, reception) controls its own temperature to its needs.

  2. 2

Simple central cooling with control valves

Some small clinics use one central unit with separate valves per department to ensure even distribution.

  3. 3

Standard filtration and dehumidification to protect equipment

Regular filters and dehumidification protect medical equipment and samples from Jeddah's high coastal humidity.

  2. 2

Coordinate with management on visit timing

Agree with medical managers on visit and service times that do not disrupt patients or staff.

  3. 3

Show us how the team can reach the roof, and point out the nearest entry point from parking or the main door.

FAQ

Questions about Hospital HVAC

How do ventilation needs differ across hospital departments?

Ventilation needs vary from one department to the next based on the activity in each area and the requirements set by the facility's designer and the site survey. Operating theatres need highly filtered, directionally controlled air, while patient rooms, corridors and administrative areas each carry different requirements. We build the duct network and select units from the facility's drawings and its specific requirements, not from general assumptions.

Can systems be maintained without stopping sensitive departments?

Yes, but it requires careful planning before the maintenance date. We agree with facility management on a schedule that names the section and the right time window, then isolate the target section using dampers and blanking plates without affecting adjacent departments. Corrective tasks such as replacing a capacitor or repairing a flare joint are carried out within the agreed time window.

What governs duct network design in a medical building?

Design is governed by the approved facility drawings and each department's requirements as defined by the site survey and the specialist designer. We fabricate ducts in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to project dimensions, and use Kimmco and Armaflex insulation with Foster sealants to control leakage. Distribution and pressure in each section follow the specifications drawn for that department individually.

Do you work with small clinics or only hospitals?

We work with medical facilities of all sizes, from a clinic in a residential district to a multi-storey medical complex. The size of the facility does not change the principle: the site survey is the starting point, and from it we determine unit types, duct dimensions and fresh-air requirements for each zone. Preventive and corrective maintenance contracts are available for clinics and hospitals alike.

Can you service the AC without closing the lab or clinic?

Yes, we schedule at non-critical times so some areas stay cooled, and we coordinate with medical management to choose the best time.

Medical equipment needs precise temperature, how do you monitor this?

We install temperature and humidity monitors in each department and run regular tests to ensure the system keeps readings within the safe range.

Jeddah is very humid, how often do you recommend AC servicing?

We recommend servicing every three months in humid Jeddah, to clean condensers and filters and prevent mould, rust and loss of efficiency.

The outdoor unit goes on the roof, how much space does it need?

It depends on the clinic size and number of departments, but usually one or two units need 1 to 2 square metres on the roof for airflow and maintenance access.
