When you need a medical HVAC specialist

  1. 1

    Hospital or clinic under construction

The right design starts before any duct is installed, because ventilation and filtration needs differ from the surgical suite to the waiting area. An early survey saves costly alterations after the building is finished.

  2. 2

Departments reporting warm air or odours

In an existing medical building, weak cooling in one department or odours crossing into an adjacent area signals an imbalance in the air distribution or extraction system. Finding the cause needs measurement, not guesswork.

  3. 3

Maintenance contract for a running facility

A hospital does not close for equipment servicing. We schedule preventive maintenance visits department by department, coordinated with facility management, and carry out repairs with the smallest possible effect on daily operations.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Survey and requirements

We visit the facility, map the heat loads and air requirements for each department, and agree the duct routes before any design work begins.

  2. 2

    Design and supply

We design the duct network and fabricate it in our own workshop to SMACNA specifications, and supply units from our authorised brands: Carrier, YORK, General, Midea, Gree and Smart Gold.

  3. 3

    Phased coordinated installation

In operating buildings we work with management to phase the installation so adjacent departments stay open, and control dust and noise away from patient areas.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and follow-up

We commission the systems, measure airflow in each department, and adjust the dampers until the design requirements are met, then hand over the facility with a maintenance plan.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Safa is a mixed central district combining commercial blocks, offices, clinics and health centres along busy streets. Hospital and clinic AC here operates in a compact environment with heavy foot traffic, so systems must maintain thermal isolation and clean air in medical zones while efficiently serving public corridors and admin areas.

Al Safa sits in central Jeddah, a compact commercial and medical district along major east-west axes.

Clinic systems in Al Safa typically mix shared centralised units with independent splits for smaller practices.

The AC setup in Al Safa

  1. 1

Shared centralised system with admin isolation

Larger clinics in Al Safa often share buildings with admin offices, so we design centralised systems with separate isolation dampers for medical and admin zones.

  2. 2

    Independent split for smaller clinics

Smaller specialist clinics in Al Safa often use independent split units to avoid the cost of sharing a central system.

  3. 3

    Extra dehumidification for clean zones

Examination and lab rooms need extra dehumidification, so we install separate drying units or integrate them into the main cooling system.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Safa

  1. 1

Coordinate visit time with clinic management

Tell us the busy hours and key appointment times so we avoid cutting power to any zone during patient care.

  2. 2

Confirm safe parking near the building

Al Safa's streets are busy, so identify a safe spot near the clinic entrance where the team can park and unload.

  3. 3

Provide access to rooftop or outdoor-unit location

Check that the team can reach the rooftop or external angle where the unit sits, and tell us of any security restrictions or steep stairways.

FAQ

Questions about Hospital HVAC

How do ventilation needs differ across hospital departments?

Ventilation needs vary from one department to the next based on the activity in each area and the requirements set by the facility's designer and the site survey. Operating theatres need highly filtered, directionally controlled air, while patient rooms, corridors and administrative areas each carry different requirements. We build the duct network and select units from the facility's drawings and its specific requirements, not from general assumptions.

Can systems be maintained without stopping sensitive departments?

Yes, but it requires careful planning before the maintenance date. We agree with facility management on a schedule that names the section and the right time window, then isolate the target section using dampers and blanking plates without affecting adjacent departments. Corrective tasks such as replacing a capacitor or repairing a flare joint are carried out within the agreed time window.

What governs duct network design in a medical building?

Design is governed by the approved facility drawings and each department's requirements as defined by the site survey and the specialist designer. We fabricate ducts in our own workshop from G90 galvanised sheet to project dimensions, and use Kimmco and Armaflex insulation with Foster sealants to control leakage. Distribution and pressure in each section follow the specifications drawn for that department individually.

Do you work with small clinics or only hospitals?

We work with medical facilities of all sizes, from a clinic in a residential district to a multi-storey medical complex. The size of the facility does not change the principle: the site survey is the starting point, and from it we determine unit types, duct dimensions and fresh-air requirements for each zone. Preventive and corrective maintenance contracts are available for clinics and hospitals alike.

If the clinic is in an older building with offices above, is its AC separate from other tenants?

Yes, we design systems that fully separate medical areas from office and commercial zones, keeping clinic air standards independent.

Al Safa's streets are busy with taxis and delivery vans blocking entrances, how does your team get equipment in?

We schedule visits outside peak hours with the clinic management and hand-carry equipment or use a small trolley from the nearest safe parking point.

Does Al Safa's street dust and coastal humidity affect medical air filters?

Yes, the central waterfront location increases dust and humidity in filters, so we clean and replace them more frequently to maintain purity standards.

Does the outdoor unit need separate electrical circuits?

Yes, we inspect the building's circuits and install separate, safe wiring for the outdoor unit away from other loads, preventing cooling loss from shared circuit failure.
