Window AC installation in Al Bayan

In Al Bayan, east Jeddah, window AC installation demands precise frame levelling and tight sealing against the hot, salty, dusty air. Alrabih's team ensures the unit tilts slightly outward so condensate drains safely away from your interior wall.

When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Bayan has mixed-age residential buildings and older villas with windows of varying sizes and structural strength, and some wooden frames are weaker than others. The seasonal expansion and contraction in coastal areas due to high humidity and heat affect frame integrity, so a basic inspection is essential before installation and weight distribution must be confirmed. The gaps around the window must be sealed with appropriate insulation to prevent the salty air and heavy dust from entering.

Al Bayan sits in east Jeddah, a mixed residential area with older villas and modern buildings near the coast.

Most Al Bayan windows are modern aluminium frames, but the older villas have wooden frames that need checking for load capacity before installation.

The AC setup in Al Bayan

  1. 1

Window AC in a single opening

Most villas and flats in Al Bayan use window ACs in single openings, as the size suits the space without needing extra building work.

  2. 2

    Installation on modern aluminium frames

Modern aluminium frames provide a strong, straightforward base for mounting and resist coastal salt and humidity corrosion better than wood.

  3. 3

    Installation with clear external drainage

Windows on the building's outer face offer a direct path for condensate drainage, reducing the risk of water leaks inside walls and floors.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Bayan

  1. 1

    Check window frame strength

Before the visit, make sure the frame is free of large cracks and rot, and that nails and fixings are securely anchored to the wall.

  2. 2

    Clarify the condensate drainage path

Tell us your preferred drainage path: does water flow to the ground, a passage, or does it need a tube directing it away from the foundation.

  3. 3

Ensure outdoor window access is clear

Check that the window can be safely reached from outside for installation and maintenance, and the surrounding area is clear of obstructions.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

My window frame is old wood, can it support the AC unit's weight?

We visit first to inspect the frame, wood, nails and fixings. If sound, we proceed with safe weight distribution. If needed, we recommend frame reinforcement before installation.

My flat is on the ground floor, where will the condensate drain?

We install the unit with a slight outward tilt so water drains directly to the ground or outer passage. Where needed, we add a small drain tube to direct water away from the building's foundation.

Salt and dust from the coast enters through gaps, how do you seal it?

We seal all gaps around the frame with high-quality foam insulation and tight-sealing silicone. This keeps out salty humid air and extends the unit and building's lifespan.

My window is slightly sloped, does that affect installation?

Yes, we check the frame level and adjust if possible before installation. If adjustment is not possible, we use precision metal shims to level the unit and prevent water leakage.
