Deep AC cleaning
AC cleaning in Al Farouq
In Al Farouq, south Jeddah, mid-rise apartment blocks and villas sit with wider outdoor space than downtown. AC cleaning here needs safe access to outdoor units on roofs and garden areas, and Alrabih's team cleans the evaporator, blower wheel and drain pan thoroughly to restore peak performance.

When your AC needs a deep clean
- 1
Musty smell when you switch on
Jeddah's high humidity creates ideal conditions for mould on the drain pan and evaporator fins. If you notice a sharp smell the moment the unit starts, the most common cause is mould built up inside the indoor unit.
- 2
Weak cooling from a working unit
A thin layer of dust on the evaporator fins reduces heat transfer noticeably. A dirty blower wheel cuts airflow without any fault in the compressor or refrigerant. Cleaning restores the unit's performance to what it was.
- 3
A unit that has not been cleaned in a long time
Jeddah's heavy dust and salt-laden sea air build up on the outdoor coil and block airflow paths. The unit runs but the compressor works harder than it should; cleaning both coils together reduces that load.

What sets this district apart
Most Al Farouq buildings are newer than the old districts, with family flats and villas set in private gardens, giving more outdoor space for the units. The intense heat and fine dust from roads and construction in this area speed up dirt accumulation on the evaporator coil, especially if the outdoor unit faces the wind directly. Safe access to roofs and gardens is essential, and the team often needs a ladder or platform to clean elevated units.
Al Farouq sits in Jeddah's southern sector, a district of mid-rise residential blocks and villas with wider outdoor grounds.
Split units here are often mounted on exposed roofs or back gardens, where they face direct heat and desert dust more than shaded units.

- 3
Multiple units for larger spaces
Larger villas often have multiple outdoor units, requiring thorough cleaning in one visit for effective maintenance.

FAQ
Questions about AC cleaning
Will the wash water stain my furniture or ceiling?
We fix a sealed protective bag under the indoor unit before any pressure washing begins. The bag collects all the wash water and channels it away from your wall and furniture. This step is not optional in how we work.
Will the mould smell disappear completely after cleaning?
In most cases the smell goes once the evaporator, blower wheel and drain pan are washed with a sanitising agent. If the smell comes from very old build-up or a drain line problem, we diagnose the cause on site and tell you exactly what is needed.
How does Jeddah's dust and salty air affect the outdoor coil?
Heavy dust and salt carried by sea air collect between the condenser fins and block airflow. This raises condensing pressure and makes the compressor work harder than it was designed to. Cleaning the outdoor coil regularly keeps the compressor performing as it should and extends its life.
Can you clean a window unit the same way?
Yes, a window unit needs similar work: filter, evaporator, blower wheel and drain pan, plus the outdoor coil built into the same casing. The difference is in how it is opened and accessed, which the technician works out after seeing where the unit is installed.
Can cleaning fix water dripping from the indoor unit?
Dripping usually comes from a blocked drain pan or a drain line that does not slope correctly. Cleaning the pan and checking that the line has the right fall resolves the problem in many cases. If the cause is different, the technician diagnoses it on site and explains exactly what is needed.
My outdoor unit is on the roof, can you reach it safely?
Yes, we access roofs safely and bring a ladder if needed. Make sure the roof is clear of obstacles before the visit.
Desert dust clogs my unit quickly, does regular cleaning help?
Yes, the fine dust in Al Farouq accumulates fast on the coil and blower. Regular cleaning each season keeps efficiency and cooling performance steady.
Humidity is high here near the sea, does this affect maintenance?
Humidity in the southern coastal area speeds up mould growth and corrosion on metal parts. Regular drain pan cleaning prevents blockages and bad odours.
Should I tell the building guard or manager before you visit?
If there is a guard or building manager, let them know the visit time in advance to smooth access to the roof or garden area.
