When your window unit needs attention
- 1
Weak cooling even on full power
The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.
- 2
Water leaking into the room
Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.
- 3
Loud noise or a fan that will not spin
Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.
Who it's for
Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor
We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Describe the fault
WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.
- 2
On-site diagnosis
The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.
- 3
Repair or replace call
If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.
- 4
Run test and handover
After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart
Al Marj is a diverse residential neighbourhood with mid-rise blocks, small flats and some ground-floor shops. Most residents chose window units for easy installation and lower cost than split systems. But constant exposure to heat, humidity and street dust causes drain clogs and capacitor failure quickly. Fixing the unit means close inspection of drainage and proper outward tilt to prevent drips inside the flat.
Al Marj lies in east Jeddah, a diverse residential area of mid-rise blocks, flats and small shops.
Window units here are mostly 18 to 24 thousand British thermal units, mounted directly in flat windows with no extra sealing.
The AC setup in Al Marj
- 1
Window units in residential flats
Most flats in Al Marj have one or two window units to cool the bedroom and living room.
- 2
Window units in ground-floor shops
Small ground-floor shops use window units because space is limited and installation is fast.
- 3
Windows without extra sealing
Windows here are not fully sealed, which increases cold air leakage and water seeping around the unit.

FAQ
Questions about Window AC repair
Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?
Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.
How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?
The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.
The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?
The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.
Why does my window unit drip water into the room?
A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.
Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?
Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.
The unit drips water on the floor, where is the water coming from?
The water is from condensation, and the unit may be tilted wrong or the drain clogged. We check both, correct the tilt and clear the drain.
The unit is old and makes an annoying noise, is it worth repairing?
The noise may be worn fan blades or weak capacitor. We check it and tell you clearly whether repair makes sense or replacement is better.
The hot humid air worsens the unit problems, how do I protect it?
We recommend cleaning the coils every two months and regularly monitor the drain to prevent mould and bacteria buildup.
The wires and socket are old, do they affect the repair or safety?
We inspect the wires and electrical connection on every repair, and we advise updating them if we spot wear or any danger sign.
