When your window unit needs attention

  1. 1

Weak cooling even on full power

The room stays warm even with the unit running at full. Most often the coil or filter is blocked with the dust and salt Jeddah's air carries; cleaning them brings the cooling back without any parts.

  2. 2

    Water leaking into the room

Dripping inside the room does not always mean a mechanical fault. The unit needs a slight tilt toward the outside so condensate runs away. We check the tilt, the drain tray and the drain holes before anything else.

  3. 3

Loud noise or a fan that will not spin

Grinding or heavy vibration usually points to a fan with broken blades, a worn shaft or a foreign object inside the unit. A fan that does not start while the compressor hums is often a failed run capacitor.

Who it's for

  • Your flat's window unit drips onto the floor

We check the unit tilt, drain tray and drain holes on site and correct the real cause so the dripping does not return.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Describe the fault

WhatsApp us what is happening: noise, drip or weak cooling. A photo of the front of the unit helps us know the model before the visit.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

The technician checks the filter, coil, fan, capacitor and thermostat in order, then tells you the real cause and what the repair needs before he starts.

  3. 3

    Repair or replace call

If the repair is practical we complete it in the same visit. If the unit is old, the chassis is deeply rusted or the compressor fault is complex, we say so plainly and explain your options.

  4. 4

    Run test and handover

After the repair we run the unit, check the cooling, confirm the drain flows and watch the current settle, then leave the room clean.

What sets this district apart

Al Nuzlah Al Yamaniyah is a moderate-density residential district with buildings of varied age and small shops, and many residents use window units in bedrooms and small offices. Intense southern heat and high humidity strain these small units hard, causing weak cooling, leaks or noise. Repairing the real problem before considering replacement saves the budget.

Al Nuzlah Al Yamaniyah lies in south Jeddah, a district of mid-age residential buildings with shops and services around main roads.

Window units here are mostly one-ton and one-and-a-half-ton, fitted in bedroom and living-room windows to cool defined spaces.

The AC setup in Al Nuzlah Al Yamaniyah

  1. 1

    One window unit per room

Flats in Al Nuzlah usually have one unit in the bedroom and one in the living room, not centrally linked.

  2. 2

    Direct external drainage

Condensate falls directly outside the window onto the street or yard, and may pool if the angle is wrong.

  3. 3

Replacement may become economical after many years

Very old window units may need repeated repairs, and replacement may become cheaper long-term.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Nuzlah Al Yamaniyah

  1. 1

Have window measurements or photo ready

A clear photo or window dimensions help us assess whether repair is sufficient or replacement is needed.

  2. 2

    Identify the nearest parking spot

Al Nuzlah has busy main streets, so tell us your address and the nearest available parking before the appointment.

  3. 3

Confirm power availability near the window

A window unit needs safe, nearby power. Check for a safe outlet beside the window before the visit.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC repair

Can a window unit be repaired in the same visit?

Many faults, a clogged filter, a dirty coil, a failed run capacitor and a wrong tilt, are fixed in a single visit. If the unit needs a part the technician does not carry, we arrange a second visit once it is sourced.

How does Jeddah's salty air affect a window unit?

The damp salty air from the sea speeds up corrosion on the metal chassis, fan blades and coil fins. Units on sea-facing walls or higher floors corrode faster. We check how deep the rust goes and tell you honestly whether the unit is worth repairing or whether the chassis has reached the point where replacement saves more.

The unit runs but the compressor will not start. What causes that?

The most common cause is a failed run capacitor that can no longer give the compressor or fan the starting push it needs. The relay is the second likely cause. The technician tests both with instruments and confirms which is at fault before replacing anything.

Why does my window unit drip water into the room?

A window unit drains condensate out of the back, so if it tilts inwards or the drain holes in its base block, the water comes back into the room. We reset the tilt slightly outwards, clean the pan and drain holes, and check the frame is sealed so no water runs down the sides.

Can a faulty thermostat cause the compressor to cycle on and off rapidly?

Yes. A faulty thermostat can send wrong signals that make the compressor cut in and out abnormally, straining the circuit and reducing cooling. The technician tests the thermostat with instruments and separates it from other causes such as the relay or a supply voltage issue before any part is replaced.

Intense southern heat weakens my window unit's cooling, is the unit the problem?

The unit itself may not be the issue. Dust on the coil or filter clogging reduces performance. Cleaning the filter and coil often improves cooling before replacement is needed.

My flat's window is small, can you fit a larger unit in it?

We do not recommend it. Poor fitting causes cold air or water leaks. We measure the window and advise the size that suits it precisely.

High southern humidity causes mould in my unit, how often should I clean it?

Every month or two in coastal and humid areas. Cleaning the coil, pan and drain prevent mould and bad smells.

Is the district's power stable or are there frequent outages?

South Jeddah usually has stable power but may have peaks and drops. We recommend a small voltage stabilizer to protect the unit from fluctuations.
