When central AC makes sense in your flat

  1. 1

    New flat before finishing

The finishing stage is the right time to install central AC. The ceiling is open and walls are ready for copper and drain routes, so there is no need later to cut plaster or damage finished surfaces.

  2. 2

Occupied flat where splits fall short

If splits leave hot and cold patches, or the noise bothers you at night, central AC distributes air evenly and hides the unit away from the room. A site survey decides whether your ceiling height allows it.

  3. 3

    Your unit disturbs the neighbours

In apartments, neighbours hear unit vibration through shared ceilings and walls. We choose the indoor unit suspension point carefully and use flexible collars on the air outlets to absorb vibration before it reaches the building structure.

Who it's for

  • Living in a furnished flat and want to replace splits

We survey your ceiling void to see whether a concealed unit fits, then run copper and drain without disturbing the existing décor.

  • Buying a flat in a building under construction

We coordinate with the finishing stage to run copper, drain and ducts before ceilings and walls are closed, so every route stays fully concealed.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Ceiling and route survey

We measure the available ceiling void, decide where the indoor unit hangs, map the copper route and find where condensate drains without causing damp. The survey decides whether one zone or more suits the flat.

  2. 2

    Run copper and drain

We run insulated Mueller copper in the void above the suspended ceiling and slope the condensate line towards the building drain or an external outlet, so no standing water causes odour or damp.

  3. 3

    Fit ducts and outlets

We mount the indoor unit on vibration-absorbing hangers, route ducts to each room and place every outlet so air spreads evenly without blowing cold air directly onto anyone.

  4. 4

    Vacuum, test and hand over

We vacuum the copper line to remove air and moisture, check all joints, then run the unit and confirm cooling in every room before we hand over.

What sets this district apart

Al Quraini'yah is a modern residential district in south Jeddah characterised by spacious urban layout, large flats, good ceiling voids and architecture suited to central systems. Flats here are typically larger than in other areas, meaning higher-capacity outdoor units and air distribution across three to five bedrooms. The zone is relatively dry but intense summer heat drives very high energy consumption and makes regular maintenance and clean filters essential.

Al Quraini'yah lies in south Jeddah, a modern residential zone with spacious flats, wide urban layout and advanced amenities.

Most large Al Quraini'yah flats require an outdoor unit of 3 to 4 tonnes, with three to four air distribution points across bedrooms and the living room.

The AC setup in Al Quraini'yah

  1. 1

Single indoor unit with high capacity

Spacious Al Quraini'yah flats need one large indoor unit, typically in the central corridor or utility room, distributing to four or five outlets.

  2. 2

Insulated ductwork in generous ceiling void

Generous, good ceiling voids allow thermally-insulated ducts to run efficiently without losing temperature over long runs.

  3. 3

Outdoor unit of 3 to 4 tonnes capacity

Large Al Quraini'yah flats require a 3 to 4 tonne outdoor unit positioned on a balcony or roof with safe ventilation clearance.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Quraini'yah

  1. 1

Collect precise measurements of all rooms and corridors

Measure length, width and height of each room and main corridors so we choose the exact unit and duct sizes.

  2. 2

Confirm balcony or roof space for the outdoor unit

Ensure your balcony or roof has space for a 3 to 4 tonne outdoor unit with safe ventilation distance from walls and edges.

  3. 3

Locate your electrical panel and main drain

Identify your flat's main electrical panel and the building's main drain so we plan connections efficiently.

FAQ

Questions about Apartment central AC

Is there enough ceiling space in a flat for a central unit?

It varies between flats. Slim ceiling cassettes need less void depth than full ducted units. A site survey measures what is available and decides the right type; if the corridor ceiling is too shallow we look at a storage room or bathroom ceiling instead.

Is one unit enough for the whole flat or do I need more?

It depends on the flat's area, room layout and how much sun each side receives. Two- and three-bedroom flats can sometimes work with one unit and well-planned ducts; larger flats or those with separate zones may need two. The survey decides.

Where does the outdoor unit go when the flat has no large balcony?

Options include the shared roof if the building rules allow it, a facade bracket away from neighbours' windows, or the balcony if it can take the load. We review the building's rules before recommending any position.

Jeddah's air is very humid; does that affect the condensate drain?

Yes. In Jeddah the indoor unit produces more condensate because of the high humidity. We make sure the drain line has enough fall, that the horizontal run before it drops is not too long, and that the outlet does not conflict with other flats' drainage in the building.

Can the flat be split into two zones with different temperatures?

It is possible using two separate indoor units or by adding variable-flow dampers on the duct runs. The right choice depends on the flat's layout and the ceiling void available in each zone. A site survey decides which approach suits your room arrangement.

My large flat, what capacity central AC does it need?

It depends on room count, total area and thermal insulation. Large Al Quraini'yah flats typically need 3 to 4 tonnes, but we offer a free consultation for precise sizing.

Heat here is brutal in summer, can the unit keep up with demand?

Yes, if we select the right outdoor unit capacity. Modern central AC is designed for intense heat, but we recommend cleaning ducts and filters monthly in summer.

How many air vents for even cooling in my five-bedroom flat?

We typically install four to five distribution points, one or two in each bedroom and one or two in the living area depending on size. We confirm the optimal arrangement after the initial visit.

The flat is very large, could there be uneven cooling with cold and warm spots?

In very large flats, there may be slight temperature differences between distant rooms, so we use adjustable vents at each outlet and place the indoor unit strategically for even distribution.
