When a window unit is the right choice

  1. 1

A room with no outdoor unit space

Some rooms have no wall facing a suitable space for an outdoor unit. A window AC is the practical answer: one unit in the opening cools the room and expels heat directly outside.

  2. 2

An annex, staff housing or storeroom

Annexes, staff rooms and warehouses need real cooling without the cost of long copper and cable runs. A window unit suits these spaces well when the right opening exists or can be made.

  3. 3

An existing window of the right size

When a wall already has a window opening that matches the unit you have chosen, the frame fits straight in without cutting new concrete. We confirm at the survey that the opening suits the unit and the wall carries the load.

Who it's for

  • Need to cool a maid's room or home annex

We survey the opening or proposed wall in the annex, fit the unit in a secure frame and seal every gap so no hot humid air enters the space.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp us a photo of the opening or the proposed wall and your district, so the technician arrives with the right frame and fixings.

  2. 2

    Site survey

On site the technician measures the opening, checks the wall, confirms there is a suitable power point near the unit, and agrees with you on any changes needed before starting.

  3. 3

    Fit and seal

We fit the frame level, set the unit with the correct outward tilt, then seal every gap around the frame so no hot air, dust or humidity enters.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the unit, check the cooling and confirm condensate flows outward, then leave the space clean and show you how to clean the filter.

What sets this district apart

Al Quraini'yah is a dense residential district in southern Jeddah with mixed old and new blocks, windows varying in size and condition. Heat here is severe and humidity also high due to relative sea proximity, creating a harsh environment for both units and walls. Many older flats have not been upgraded and still use window AC, with windows possibly weak or crooked. In these conditions, a strong frame, airtight sealing and effective drainage are all essential together to run the unit efficiently and protect the building from damage.

Al Quraini'yah lies in southern Jeddah, a dense residential district mixing old and new blocks near the sea.

Flats here vary widely in size and age, with windows of different dimensions, so careful assessment before choosing the right unit size is essential.

The AC setup in Al Quraini'yah

  1. 1

Window unit in a variable-condition window

Al Quraini'yah windows may be strong or weak, level or slightly crooked, so we assess each one individually before installation.

  2. 2

Strong insulation and drainage against both heat and humidity

The southern environment combines intense heat and high humidity, so we use high-quality insulation, sealant and reliable water drainage.

  3. 3

External condensate drain well clear of lower facades

In dense blocks, we ensure condensate does not drip onto units or windows on lower floors.

FAQ

Questions about Window AC installation

Can you cut a new opening in the wall if there is none?

Yes, if no suitable opening exists we can cut one. At the survey we check the wall type and thickness and look for columns or cables that might be in the way, then agree the best position with you before any cutting begins.

Why does the outward tilt matter on a window unit?

A window unit produces condensate on its indoor side throughout operation. If the unit sits level or tilts inward, water pools in the base and runs down the inside wall. A slight outward tilt sends that water to the back of the unit and out, away from the wall and furniture.

How do you seal the gaps around the frame given Jeddah's climate?

Jeddah combines high heat, humidity and salty sea air, so sealing materials must hold up in those conditions. We use insulating and sealing materials suited to the opening and wall type, and the survey determines the right choice based on the gap size and wall construction.

Does a window unit need its own power point?

A window unit draws a high current at start-up, and sharing a socket with other appliances strains the wiring and trips the breaker. The technician checks at the survey that a suitable socket is close to the unit position, and if one is not there we explain what is needed before installation proceeds.

Does the weight of a window unit affect how it is fixed?

Yes, the unit's weight directly affects how the frame is fixed and what support is needed. A concrete wall requires different treatment from a brick wall, and a wide opening needs more support than a narrow one. The technician decides at the survey what fixing method and materials suit the unit and the wall.

My building is old and the window is slightly crooked, can you safely install the unit?

We inspect the window first and judge whether the crook can be corrected or if installation is still safe, and if so we use shims to level the unit properly.

Heat and humidity both are high here, how do you protect the walls from damage?

We seal the gaps around the frame with humidity-resistant insulation and tilt the unit outward so all water drains away, protecting against both mould and decay.

Parking is difficult on the street and the building layout is irregular, how will you reach the flat?

We agree with you in advance on the nearest parking and how to access the flat, and if needed we carry tools in by hand.

Condensate drips from my unit and leaves a mark on the wall, how do you prevent this permanently?

We confirm the unit is tilted outward at the correct angle and the water drain is reliable and clear, and we advise you to check it periodically to prevent blockage.
