Who needs a new cold room?

  1. 1

Restaurant or bakery expanding its store

Your current storage cannot hold the quantities you need, or you are relying on domestic fridges that are not up to the job. A purpose-built cold room keeps ingredients at a steady temperature and cuts waste caused by temperature swings.

  2. 2

Pharmacy or clinic needing medical storage

Medicines, vaccines and sensitive medical supplies need a temperature that does not shift when the door opens or when Jeddah's summer heat peaks. We build the room to suit that use and choose the condensing unit after the site survey.

  3. 3

Warehouse or grocery starting from scratch

You are fitting out your premises and want a cold room built in from the start, or you want to convert part of a warehouse into one. The site, the daily stock volume and how often the door opens all shape the right specification, and we work that out with you at the survey.

Who it's for

  • Opening a bakery and need ingredient storage

We survey your allocated space and build a cold room sized to your daily production volume, from insulated panels to the temperature controller.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey

The technician visits, measures the available space and asks about your stock type, quantities and daily use to set the room dimensions and the capacity the unit needs.

  2. 2

    Panels and door

We fit the insulated wall and ceiling panels and seal every joint, then hang the cold room door in its frame and check that the seal presses evenly on all four sides.

  3. 3

    Cooling unit and pipework

We mount the condensing unit where it has enough air, fit the evaporator inside the room, and run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, fully insulated to reduce heat gain.

  4. 4

    Vacuum, start-up, handover

We vacuum the copper line and test joints before starting the unit, then set the temperature controller and confirm the room reaches the target temperature before handing over.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

Don't see your district?Message us. We most likely cover it.

What sets this district apart

Al Sharafiyah's buildings mix warehouses, commercial shops and small restaurants, many never originally built with integrated cold rooms. Storage space for cold storage is often tight and needs careful planning for panels and doors so they don't squeeze out retail or kitchen area. Coastal humidity and brutal summer heat make insulation and ventilation around the outdoor unit critical to avoid cooling loss.

Al Sharafiyah sits in central Jeddah's commercial hub, a district of medium-sized commercial buildings and warehouses around main traffic routes.

Most cold rooms here are installed within existing commercial spaces, with outdoor units mounted on the building roof or exterior wall.

The AC setup in Al Sharafiyah

  1. 1

Insulated-panel room within an existing warehouse

Insulated panels and sealed doors are installed within an existing warehouse space, with the outdoor unit on the roof or exterior wall.

  2. 2

Cold room for a small retail shop

Small retail shops here often need a compact room for display and storage, so we install a scaled unit with a single door.

  3. 3

    Automatic temperature control system

Every cold room needs a precise thermostat and automatic control to keep the temperature steady, especially in shops that open and close their doors frequently.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Sharafiyah

  1. 1

Prepare exact measurements of the space

Before the visit, measure the length, width and height of the space for the room and tell us about any columns or internal obstacles.

  2. 2

Show us where the power and drainage points are

Confirm there is a strong power outlet near the outdoor unit location, and locate the drainage point available for condensate water.

  3. 3

Ensure the roof or exterior wall is accessible

The outdoor unit will be mounted on the roof or a safe exterior wall. Make sure our team can reach it safely and without obstruction.

FAQ

Questions about Cold room installation

How is the right cold room size worked out?

Size depends on the type and quantity of stock, how often fresh goods come in and how many times the door opens each day. These factors together set the dimensions and the cooling unit capacity needed, which is why we do not suggest a size before the site visit.

Where does the condensing unit go in a restaurant or warehouse?

The condensing unit needs enough air around it, distance from heat sources and a spot a technician can reach for servicing. We decide the best location at the site survey based on the building layout and how the space is used.

What happens to my stock if the power to the room cuts out?

A well-insulated room with a tight door holds its cold for a limited time if the door stays shut, and longer the thicker the insulation and the better the seal. So we choose the panel thickness and the door seal with care, and set the controller to raise an alarm when the temperature rises, so you can act before stock spoils.

What is the difference between this room and a freezer room?

A chiller room works above freezing and suits vegetables, medicines, dairy and baked goods. A freezer room works below freezing and needs thicker insulation, an insulated floor, a heated door frame and a defrost system. If you need freezing or a combined room, we offer that as a dedicated service.

Can a cold room be installed in a rented space without major structural changes?

In most cases yes. Insulated panels are assembled inside the existing space without demolition or construction work, and the condensing unit is fixed in a suitable spot the technician identifies at the survey. Ceiling type and building ventilation may affect the details, and we confirm those after seeing the site.

Our space is tight, can you fit a cold room in it?

Yes, we design the room to fit your available space and cooling load. We start with exact measurements to ensure the doors and panels fit your area before installation starts.

Where do you put the outdoor unit in warehouses here?

Most warehouses here have accessible roofs or clear exterior walls. We choose the best spot for hot-air exhaust and to keep noise away from other units.

Does coastal humidity affect how long the cold room lasts?

Yes, humidity accelerates corrosion of metal and seals. We use panels with strong insulation and ensure proper water drainage from the outdoor unit to extend system life.

Does the cold room need its own power circuit?

Yes, the outdoor unit typically needs a dedicated heavy power supply. We check your building's electrical capacity before installation and coordinate with an electrician if needed.
