Who needs a specialist freezer room?

  1. 1

    Stock that needs sub-zero cold

Meat, poultry, fish and ice cream spoil if the temperature rises even briefly above the required level. A freezer room is built to hold that level continuously, not simply to cool.

  2. 2

    One room, two temperature zones

Large restaurants and hotels usually need a chiller section and a freezer section side by side. We build both wings with separate insulation, independent refrigeration units and an insulated inner door, so neither zone affects the other's temperature.

  3. 3

    Expanding an existing facility

If your current cold room no longer holds all your stock, or you need to add a freezer section beside it, we survey the site and propose the most practical way to expand with as little disruption to your operation as possible.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Site survey

We visit the site, learn the stock type and required temperature, measure the available space, and decide the right insulation thickness and refrigeration system from what we find.

  2. 2

    Design and supply

We draw the room layout including pipe and cable routes, then have the panels, doors and equipment ready before installation begins.

  3. 3

    Installation and connection

We fit the panels, insulated floor and door, then run and insulate the copper pipes, vacuum the line and pressure-test it before starting the system. Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints where the layout calls for it.

  4. 4

    Start-up and handover

We run the system and watch the room reach its target temperature, confirm the defrost cycle works and the door seals properly, then explain the controls to the person responsible for the facility.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.

What sets this district apart

Prince Fawaz South is a modern residential and commercial district with multi-storey buildings and generous commercial spaces, home to many hotels, restaurants and modern shops. The buildings have well-engineered foundations and layouts, but intense summer heat and high coastal humidity demand very strong cooling capacity. A freezer room here must handle a long daily duty cycle and harsh climate stress.

Prince Fawaz South sits in south Jeddah, a modern zone with hotels, restaurants and busy commerce.

Freezer rooms in Prince Fawaz South serve hotels and restaurants that run high-capacity cooling all day due to intense heat and frequent door cycles.

The AC setup in Prince Fawaz South

  1. 1

Deep-freeze room for high-volume hotels and restaurants

Hotels and restaurants in Prince Fawaz South need rooms with very powerful compressors that hold ultra-low temperatures despite long duty cycles.

  2. 2

    Heated door with temperature-sync mechanism

Frequent entry in restaurants and hotels exposes the door to freezing and failure, so we choose a heated door with a system that keeps its temperature stable.

  3. 3

Enhanced insulation for hot, humid coastal climate

Coastal proximity and intense heat make holding cold a challenge, so we use very thick insulation and a very strong drainage system.

Choose roof or garden space for the outdoor unit

Tell us where you prefer the outdoor unit (hotel roof or back garden), and ensure it is away from customers or the main entrance.

  2. 2

Provide a dedicated, powerful electrical circuit

Confirm a dedicated circuit with sufficient capacity for the compressor, and tell us if the hotel or restaurant's electrical infrastructure needs upgrading.

  3. 3

Clarify stock type and temperature requirements

Tell us what the room will hold (meat, beverages, ice, frozen desserts) and the exact temperatures needed, and whether you need one or multiple zones.

FAQ

Questions about Cold & freezer room installation

Why does a freezer room need an insulated floor when a chiller often does not?

At sub-zero temperatures the moisture held in a concrete slab freezes and expands, cracking tiles and lifting bases over time. A chiller room operates above freezing, so ice crystals do not form in the slab. A freezer room therefore requires insulated panels under the floor together with a vapour barrier that blocks rising ground heat and protects the structure over the long term.

What is the difference between electric defrost and other types?

Electric defrost uses heating elements fixed inside the evaporator coil; they warm the coil directly and melt frost build-up. Hot-gas defrost instead redirects warm refrigerant from the compressor back through the same coil. The choice between the two depends on room size, the required number of cycles and the type of goods stored; the site survey determines which method suits each installation.

Can two zones at different temperatures share the same footprint?

Yes. A partition of insulated panels separates the space, with each side using a panel thickness matched to its required temperature differential. Each zone has its own refrigeration unit and a door with a heated frame to prevent condensation. This arrangement is widely used in meat and fish facilities that need a chiller zone for short-term stock and a freezer zone for longer storage. The final design depends on the available floor area and the heat load of each section.

Does the position of the condensing unit affect how the freezer room performs?

Position has a direct effect. The condensing unit needs clean air and adequate flow to reject heat; if it is placed in a confined space or near heat sources the condensing pressure rises and the compressor works harder. In Jeddah, outdoor air also carries salt and dust that accumulate on the condenser coil over time. The site survey identifies the best location and the copper-pipe route, keeping each Mueller copper pipe run within thirty metres without welded joints.

My new hotel needs a freezer room for soft drinks and beverages, will it work?

Yes, a freezer room keeps beverages, food and ice with high efficiency. We design it to match your stock volume and the available space in the hotel.

My restaurant operates 24 hours, can a freezer room handle that constant use?

Yes, freezer rooms are built for continuous operation. Given the intense heat and frequent door cycles in Prince Fawaz South, we choose a powerful compressor and thick insulation to handle daily stress.

My room faces the outside and suffers intense summer heat, will insulation be enough?

We select very thick insulation and study the room's orientation and sun-exposed walls, and may add extra protection to external walls if needed.

Where does the outdoor unit sit in a busy hotel or restaurant?

The outdoor unit goes on the roof or a back garden away from customers, and we ensure enough space for air flow and future maintenance.
