When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Ajwad is a relatively modern neighbourhood east of Jeddah, home to modern supermarkets and large retailers with spacious layouts, many built to international retail standards. The buildings are newer and ventilation is better than in older areas, but Jeddah's heat and coastal humidity place ongoing demands on display units. These shops carry high stock volumes and run heavy daily loads on cooling equipment, making preventive maintenance essential to avoid costly downtime and lost sales.

Al Ajwad is in east Jeddah, a modern area with large supermarkets and contemporary retail shops with spacious layouts.

Display units in Al Ajwad are typically large cabinets with powerful condensers and smart temperature controls, installed in dedicated retail sections within the shop.

The AC setup in Al Ajwad

  1. 1

Large horizontal display units with glass shelves

Modern supermarkets in Al Ajwad use wide horizontal cabinets with multiple glass shelves and bright internal lighting.

  2. 2

    Vertical units with panoramic windows

Specialty sections like dairy and freezers use tall vertical units with panoramic windows and temperature-controlled doors.

  3. 3

Connected display system with central smart control

Large retailers here link multiple units to a central control system monitoring temperature and power, requiring software and sensor checks.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Ajwad

  1. 1

Confirm easy access to each unit

Make sure the space in front of and behind each unit is clear of stored items or displays, so our team can access and clean easily.

  2. 2

Provide smart system details before we visit

Tell us the control system type and any recent error codes so we bring compatible hardware and software.

  3. 3

Track any irregular performance or temperature swings

If you notice temperature differences between units or unusual alarms, note them and tell us before we arrive for faster diagnosis.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

We have several units close together, how do you balance temperatures between them?

We measure each unit's temperature with precise digital tools and compare shelf levels. If temperatures vary between units, we inspect air flow and compressor and take corrective action.

Our units are on a smart control system, does that affect servicing?

Yes, we work with smart systems and read their diagnostic codes. Tell us the system type before we visit so we bring compatible tools.

The shop's display units consume a lot of power, is there a solution?

Condenser and compressor cleanliness, good door seals and correct temperature settings cut consumption. We inspect all these and give you efficiency and cost recommendations.

Summer heat is extreme, can display units withstand the strain?

Yes, but intense heat places heavy strain on the compressor and fans. We recommend a full check before summer and condenser and fan cleaning roughly monthly during hot season.
