When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Ala is a mixed residential-commercial district with small shops and restaurants on the ground floor and flats above, with display units cramped into narrow shop spaces. Seasonal humidity and heat stress the units, dust accumulates quickly on the condenser due to busy street activity, causing performance drops, fogged glass, or uneven shelf temperatures.

Al Ala is in north-east Jeddah, a mixed residential-commercial district with shops and flats closely packed.

Most display units here are straight or angled models placed inside narrow shops with outdoor condensers on roofs or facades.

The AC setup in Al Ala

  1. 1

Straight-glass display chiller in a narrow shop

Most common in small shops, designed to display beverages and pastries in tight spaces with a strong air curtain.

  2. 2

Angled display chiller at shop corners

Used at corners to display goods from two angles, saving space and maximizing visual display.

  3. 3

Outdoor condenser on roof or facade

In most shops, the condenser sits on the roof or rear facade due to tight indoor spaces.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Ala

  1. 1

Arrange a time away from peak hours

Ask the shop owner for a quiet time, usually early morning or after closing, to enable safe work without disruption.

  2. 2

Identify the route to the outdoor condenser

Tell us if the condenser is on the roof or facade, and confirm safe access before the visit.

  3. 3

Clear a small space in front of the chiller

Make sure the doors can open and we can inspect easily despite the shop's narrow space.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

Small shops in Al Ala cannot fit large display units, how do you service them?

We work with small and medium units suited to tight spaces, inspecting the condenser and airflow carefully despite the constraints.

The street is busy and noisy, how do you handle maintenance calls?

We arrange a quiet time with the shop owner, usually early morning or after closing, to enable safe inspection and work.

My chiller fogs up quickly in summer, is that normal?

High outdoor heat and humidity stress the air curtain, and there may be a coil leak or airflow blockage we need to check.

The outdoor condenser is a bit far from the chiller, does that matter?

Long runs can reduce cooling efficiency, but we check refrigerant pressure, pipe condition and insulation to ensure proper output.
