When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Owaija is a developing residential and commercial area in north-east Jeddah with relatively new residential neighbourhoods on organized streets and small supermarkets and shopping chains. Shops here are recently built and equipped, using modern display fridges of varied capacity. Intense summer heat, coastal humidity and airborne dust in the eastern Jeddah environment strain the compressor, condenser and fans. Outdoor units often face direct sun, requiring periodic checks and regular cleaning to ensure peak performance.

Al Owaija is in north-east Jeddah, a modern residential and commercial area with supermarkets and shopping chains on organized streets.

Fridges in Al Owaija are relatively modern with medium to high capacity, most with powerful outdoor compressors and balanced fans serving supermarkets and small chains.

The AC setup in Al Owaija

  1. 1

Modern cabinets with medium to high capacity

Supermarkets and shopping chains in Al Owaija use modern advanced fridges, most with digital temperature control systems.

  2. 2

Powerful outdoor compressors on roofs or sides

Outdoor units are powerful and modern, mounted on shop roofs or sides, and often directly exposed to sun and heat.

  3. 3

    Balanced fans and complex coils

Modern unit design means variable-speed fans and complex coils requiring precise cleaning and specialized inspection.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Owaija

  1. 1

Send a photo of the outdoor unit and location

Help us with a clear photo of the outdoor unit and its location on the roof or side. Confirm the location is safe and easily accessible for the team.

  2. 2

Confirm a separate power circuit for the fridge

We need to know if the fridge has a separate circuit and safe breaker. Tell us about the shop's total electrical load.

  3. 3

    Schedule outside peak hours

The fridge will be offline during inspection and cleaning. Pick an off-peak hour like early morning to avoid affecting sales and customers.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

How often do small supermarkets in Al Owaija need to have their fridges checked?

We recommend inspection every two to three months. High heat, humidity and eastern dust increase salt and dirt buildup quickly, and regular coil and fan cleaning maintains performance and efficiency.

Does hot sun on the outdoor unit reduce cooling efficiency?

Yes, direct sun exposure increases compressor and condenser heat and can reduce cooling efficiency significantly. We inspect the mounting and recommend installing a sun barrier or heat shield.

Does eastern dust and salt affect the coils and fans?

Yes, the eastern environment and coastal salt cause rapid corrosion and buildup on coils and fans. We clean them thoroughly and apply salt and moisture barriers when needed.

Does a small supermarket's power supply handle high-capacity fridges?

It depends on the circuit capacity and the shop's total load. We check earthing, insulation and power capacity on each visit, and recommend periodic checks by a licensed electrician.
