When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

Who it's for

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Fayhaa is a mixed residential and commercial district with cake shops, small bakeries and medium restaurants, and display fridges here face very high use because fresh products like cream and pastries are sensitive to temperature swings. Natural humidity from mixing and fermentation in bakeries increases load on evaporators and fans, and any maintenance delay directly impacts product quality and sales.

Al Fayhaa is in central Jeddah and is known for its cake shops, small bakeries and restaurants along busy streets.

Cake and pastry fridges here are mostly horizontal, installed directly in shop windows, running all day and needing regular checks of the top surface and internal shelves.

The AC setup in Al Fayhaa

  1. 1

Horizontal display cases for cakes and pastries

Cake and bakery shops use glass horizontal cases mounted in windows, needing regular checks of the evaporator surface, sides and air curtain from top and bottom.

  2. 2

Vertical cases for fresh juices and milk

Larger bakeries and restaurants use vertical cases for fresh juices and milk, needing precise temperature balance because fresh products are sensitive.

  3. 3

Compact outdoor units in tight passages

Small Al Fayhaa shops often place the outdoor unit in a tight passage or limited balcony, which may restrict ventilation and cleaning access.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Fayhaa

  1. 1

    Schedule between daily batches

Bakeries and cake shops have set production batches morning and afternoon, so agree on a maintenance slot between batches to minimise production disruption.

  2. 2

Confirm easy access to the outdoor unit

The outdoor unit may be in a tight passage or small balcony, so confirm the team can reach and work on it safely before the visit.

  3. 3

Clear the fridge area and provide cleaning water

Make sure the area in front of the fridge is clear of shelves and stock, and show us the nearest water tap and drain for cleaning water.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My small bakery runs the fridge from opening to close, how often does it need maintenance?

Continuous use requires a check and clean every ten days to verify the condenser, fans and air curtain and confirm temperature balance across shelves.

Bakery humidity is very high from mixing and the oven, does it cause fridge problems?

Yes, high humidity speeds mould growth in the evaporator and ice buildup, so we clean the evaporator, passages and drain more intensively in bakeries and advise extra ventilation near the fridge.

Cream and pastries are very heat-sensitive, what if cooling fails suddenly?

Cooling failure must be spotted immediately, so we advise daily simple temperature checks and instant contact if anything seems off, and we offer rapid repair service.

The fridge is in the window and gets afternoon sun in summer, does that affect performance?

Yes, direct sun increases load on the condenser and compressor, so we advise a reflective blind on the glass in hot periods and more intensive summer checks.
