When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Rabwah is a busy commercial district with small and medium shops, restaurants and cafés along a main street and side lanes, and display space is tight because shopfronts are narrow and deep. The display fridges here run hard all day, and constant door openings with temperature swings speed up frost build-up on the condenser and coils. Regular checks of the fans and air curtain are essential to prevent glass fogging and protect the quality of displayed products.

Al Rabwah sits in central Jeddah, a mixed commercial zone of small shops and restaurants on relatively narrow streets with residential buildings nearby.

Most display fridges here are open-top cases or dual-glass-door chillers, placed at shop and restaurant entrances.

The AC setup in Al Rabwah

  1. 1

    Open-top display cases

Open-top cases are common in Al Rabwah shops for fresh and dairy products, and need constant checking of the air curtain and fans.

  2. 2

    Dual-glass-door display chillers

Dual-glass units offer better sealing and are used for food and drinks, and need regular coil and condenser checks to prevent fogging.

  3. 3

    Compact outdoor units

Most Al Rabwah shop roofs are small, so outdoor units are tightly mounted or wall-hung.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Rabwah

  1. 1

Tell us where the indoor and outdoor units are located

Confirm the locations of the cabinet and outdoor unit clearly before the visit, especially in shops with narrow shopfronts.

  2. 2

Ensure access to the condenser and coils

If the outdoor unit is on the roof or wall, confirm it can be safely reached without moving stock or equipment.

  3. 3

Coordinate the visit time with the shop manager

Agree with us on a visit time that does not disrupt business hours, especially during peak trading times.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My chiller glass fogs up constantly; is this due to Al Rabwah's heat?

Fogging comes more from a faulty air curtain or coil leak than from the outside heat. We inspect the system and regular maintenance keeps the glass clear.

My shop is deep in a narrow market lane; how do you reach the unit?

We agree with you before the visit on the nearest entrance and how our team accesses it, and we carry tools by hand if needed.

The top shelves of my chiller are colder than the bottom ones; is that normal?

Uneven temperatures point to poor cold air distribution across the shelves. We check air circulation and verify the distribution vents on every service call.

The outdoor unit sits on a small roof space; should I expect electrical issues?

Small roof spaces need safe earthing and adequate power cable. We check all connections and earthing before any unit runs.
