When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Rahmah is an expanding southern residential district with medium-sized shops and services and relatively modern building, where fridges run in warm, dry summer conditions and moderate winter humidity. Space is wider than downtown but coordination with shop owners is essential because fridge faults cut income. Condensers usually sit in protected spots or on side walls, but intense summer heat adds noticeable strain to the cooling system.

Al Rahmah is an expanding southern residential zone with mid-sized commercial shops and restaurants on relatively modern urban space.

Display fridges here are typically medium-sized with external condensers on side walls or small yards.

The AC setup in Al Rahmah

  1. 1

    Medium-sized display fridges

Al Rahmah shops use medium-sized units suited to available space and local demand for cold drinks.

  2. 2

Condensers on side walls in open spaces

Condensers usually sit on side walls or in small yards, away from the main shop front.

  3. 3

External pipes exposed to sun and heat

Copper pipes run on outer walls and face direct sun and summer heat.

Before the visit

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

Upper shelves are colder than lower ones in the fridge, is that a unit defect?

Usually it is not a unit defect but an airflow distribution problem, the vents may be blocked or the fan weak or the air curtain needs cleaning, so we clear the passages and vents, refine the curtain and fan to restore thermal balance.

The condenser is on the side wall where sun sometimes hits it, how do we protect it?

Sun on the condenser increases system load and pressure, so we recommend a shade or sun-reflective panel, and clean the condenser regularly to remove dust and grime that cut cooling efficiency.

Does the fridge save electricity if it is clean and in top condition?

Yes, significantly, a clean fridge with a dust-free condenser and efficient fan uses much less power because the system does not strain to work harder, so regular maintenance saves both energy and money.

The pipes from the fridge to the condenser run on an outer wall, do they need thermal insulation?

Yes, definitely, pipes exposed on outer walls lose heat and pressure to sun and hot air, so we recommend wrapping them in thermal insulation (foam or fibre) after cleaning off any rust, to ensure efficient refrigerant transfer and extend system life.
