When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Rawabi is a modern residential district with very high commercial density, especially along the main streets where restaurants, shops and cafés cluster. Summer temperatures here are extremely high, and display fridges work hard for long hours. Coastal humidity and dust from the open streets accelerate frost buildup on the coil and condenser, so regular maintenance every four to six weeks is vital.

Al Rawabi sits in modern south Jeddah, a developed residential district with strong commercial concentration along main thoroughfares.

Display fridges here are typically large units with rear-mounted compressors, placed directly on shop fronts facing the street or beside the entrance.

The AC setup in Al Rawabi

  1. 1

Large display chillers with rear compressor

Most large restaurants and shops in Al Rawabi use sizeable display chillers with rear compressor and fan, allowing better product visibility and stronger cooling.

  2. 2

    Multiple units per shop

Larger shops and restaurants typically install two or three separate display units for beverages, sweets and fresh items.

  3. 3

Mounted on storefront or beside entrance

Fridges are positioned prominently on the street-facing storefront or beside the entrance to draw customers from outside.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Rawabi

  1. 1

Tell us where the rear compressor is located

The rear compressor may be inside or outside the shop, so tell us exactly where it is to ease access and cleaning.

  2. 2

Clear space beside the fridge for the team

Our team needs clear space to stand and work safely around the unit, especially where it faces the street.

  3. 3

Point out the drain water outlet

Let us know where condensation drains so we avoid water spilling on steps or the pavement during cleaning.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My fridge performs worse in summer, is that normal?

In Al Rawabi especially, the intense summer heat puts hard pressure on the compressor and fan, and the fridge may cool more slowly at peak heat. We inspect the compressor, condenser and fan about every six weeks to maintain full performance.

My shop opens directly onto the street, does that harm the fridge?

Yes, hot air and humidity from direct street exposure increase cooling load, and dust enters the condenser easily. We monitor the condenser and filters closely and recommend weekly external cleaning.

Does the high humidity here cause fridge problems?

Coastal humidity in Al Rawabi speeds up frost on the coil and reduces airflow efficiency. More frequent maintenance during summer helps avoid sudden breakdowns.

Water leaks from my fridge, where does it come from?

Condensation drains from the drain pan underneath or at the back, and leaks if the syphon is blocked or pipes are loose. We inspect and clean the drainage system on every service visit.
