When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Barakah is an evolving residential and commercial area with modern cafés, varied restaurants and mid-sized supermarkets, relying heavily on display fridges to attract customers with visible fresh cold stock. High southern heat and constant daily demand mean the units run uninterrupted, with dirt and dust on condensers accumulating faster than in air-conditioned buildings. Cooling efficiency and humidity control are critical for stock safety and preserving the unit's appearance and displayed products.

Al Barakah lies in south Jeddah, an evolving residential and commercial district with modern shops, cafés and restaurants.

Most units here are mid to large-sized with multiple fans and strong air curtains, installed to showcase drinks, pastries and dairy in volume.

The AC setup in Al Barakah

  1. 1

Large display units with strong air curtain and multi-shelf

Cafés and restaurants here invest in large display units with powerful air curtains and multiple shelves to showcase drinks, pastries and dairy in volume.

  2. 2

    Long-run corridor fridges in supermarkets

Mid-sized supermarkets here use long connected corridor fridges for multiple products, requiring coordinated maintenance across sections.

  3. 3

    Units with remote outdoor condensers

Some larger restaurants here have remote condensers mounted outside the building to improve ventilation and reduce heat in the service area.

Before the visit

  1. 1

Tell us your shop's peak and quiet hours

Constant operation means the team may need a suitable time slot. Identify times when brief interruption does not affect customer service.

  2. 2

Clear space in front of the unit for the team

Units in cafés and restaurants are often crowded. Leave safe space in front so the team can inspect and clean safely and easily.

  3. 3

Ensure easy access to condenser, fans and drain

Identify the condenser, fans and water drain so the team can plan cleaning and inspection efficiently.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

The fridge runs all day non-stop, does it need more maintenance than others?

Yes, significantly. Non-stop operation increases compressor and condenser workload greatly. Monthly maintenance is strongly recommended to clean the condenser and fans and check air curtain efficiency.

Uneven shelf temperatures between top and bottom, is this normal?

No, this indicates poor cold-air distribution or partial blockage in ventilation paths. Regular inspection of air paths and fans identifies the issue and improves uniformity.

Dust accumulates fast on the condenser and glass constantly, why?

Continuous operation and high heat speed up dust and dirt accumulation. Weekly or fortnightly cleaning of the condenser and glass is recommended to maintain performance and appearance.

Can continuous operation and heat damage the compressor long-term?

Yes, if regular maintenance is not continuous. Sustained compressor workload without regular condenser and fan cleaning can cause compressor strain and early failure. Regular maintenance extends the unit's life by years.
