When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Sabeel is a mixed residential-commercial zone with flats and shops and cafés below them, where display fridges sit in cramped spaces between the shop and the narrow street. High coastal humidity speeds up corrosion of pipes and the condenser, and intense summer heat adds extra load to the cooling system. Coordination with the shop owner is essential because fridge downtime means instant stock and sales loss, especially during peak hours.

Al Sabeel is a district adjacent to historic Al Balad, mixing old residential blocks with small commercial shops and cafés on narrow streets.

Most display fridges here are standalone small to medium units with external condensers sitting close by or on narrow balconies.

The AC setup in Al Sabeel

  1. 1

Standalone display fridges, small to medium

Cafés and small shops here use standalone units squeezed into tight spaces between the storefront and the street.

  2. 2

External condensers on tight balconies and roofs

Condensers are usually mounted on tight balconies or low roofs due to space constraints, increasing stress on the piping.

  3. 3

Limited power points in small shops

Small shops often lack dedicated power outlets, so the fridge shares the circuit with other appliances.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Sabeel

  1. 1

Confirm the balcony location and condenser position

Tell us exactly where the balcony or roof with the condenser is and how to reach it safely.

  2. 2

    Allow a longer visit window

Allow extra time because working on a tight balcony or old roof calls for more care than usual.

  3. 3

Tell us about power and water access

Point out the nearest power outlet and water tap, as these are essential for testing the fridge and full cleaning.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My café fridge cools but the glass stays constantly fogged, what causes that?

Persistent fogging points to a weakened air curtain or leaking gasket, common in the humid coastal environment here, which we restore or replace to clear the glass.

The street is tight and the condenser is on a small balcony, how do you service it?

Our team works carefully on tight balconies and carries tools adeptly to avoid blocking the street, and we arrange the best time with you to minimise disruption and risk.

The sea air is salty, does it spoil the display fridge faster?

Yes, salt and high humidity speed up corrosion of the condenser, copper pipes and metal parts, so we clean the condenser regularly and carefully inspect pipes and connections to extend the fridge's life.

The fridge shelves cool unevenly, customers avoid picking from the warm corners, can we fix this?

Yes, uneven cooling usually comes from blocked air vents or a weakened fan or air curtain, so we clean the passages, check the fan and curtain, and balance the airflow to ensure consistent temperature across all shelves and corners.
