Display chillers that stay stable

Display fridges & chillers in Harat Al Bahar

In Harat Al Bahar, old downtown Jeddah, display chillers in tight shops and small supermarkets struggle with sea humidity and repeated heat. Alrabih cleans the condenser and fans, checks the air curtain and shelves to ensure the fridge protects your stock from spoilage.

When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Harat Al Bahar is an old densely built neighbourhood of small simple shops and modest family supermarkets, where most outlets lack adequate natural ventilation due to narrow streets and passages. High sea humidity and repeated sharp heating-cooling cycles cause rapid mould and dirt buildup on the evaporator coil and condenser, cutting cooling efficiency and threatening stock safety faster than other areas.

Harat Al Bahar sits in historic downtown Jeddah near the waterfront, an old densely built area of tight streets and small commercial shops.

Most display units here are small to mid-sized, mounted beside counters or tight shelving in the shops.

The AC setup in Harat Al Bahar

  1. 1

Small display units without air curtain

Many older shops here have basic units without an air curtain, leaving stock more exposed to cold loss.

  2. 2

Vertical display fridges in family supermarkets

Small family supermarkets rely on compact vertical display fridges for drinks and dairy in limited spaces.

  3. 3

    Units with top-mounted condensers

Some units here have condensers mounted on top because of tight rear space in the shops.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Harat Al Bahar

  1. 1

Clear space in front of the fridge before the visit

If stock is piled in front of the unit or the passage is blocked, let us know beforehand so the team can prepare with enough time.

  2. 2

Ensure safe access to condenser and fans

Identify where the condenser and fans are mounted on the unit, whether rear or top, so the team knows how to access them safely.

  3. 3

Tell the team about any mould or rust you have noticed

If you notice black mould or rust on the unit's parts, describe it to the team so they focus on cleaning it carefully.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

Our closeness to the sea causes very high humidity, does this affect the fridge?

Yes, high humidity and salt near the sea speed up mould and rust buildup on the condenser and fans. Regular cleaning of internal and external parts is more critical here than elsewhere.

The shop is very tight and the fridge is flush against the wall, how do you clean it?

Our team works carefully in tight gaps. We remove necessary parts and clean them carefully without needing to force the unit away from its wall.

The glass is always damp and cloudy, is it the humid air or a unit problem?

Both factors. High humidity increases condensation, but a dirty evaporator coil cannot cool enough to dehumidify the cabinet air. Cleaning the coil makes a big difference.

The shop's wiring is old and voltage is unstable, does this hurt the fridge?

Yes, unstable voltage damages the compressor and motor. We check the electrical connection and advise on a voltage stabilizer if needed.
