When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Salmiyah Al Sharqiyah is an economical residential district with grocery shops, vegetable stalls, simple restaurants, sandwich shops and small consumer cooperatives. Buildings here are mid-age with limited space, and shops rely on small to medium display chillers for dairy, fruit and prepared foods. Coastal heat and humidity are high, and glass fogs quickly, especially when the shop is crowded. Condensers are often in tight spaces, and regular cleaning and inspection are vital because a chiller fault directly hits a small shop's sales.

Al Salmiyah Al Sharqiyah in south Jeddah is an economical residential district with grocery and vegetable shops, small restaurants and consumer cooperatives.

Most display chillers here are small to medium with one to three shelves, and outdoor condensers are usually in tight corners due to space constraints.

The AC setup in Al Salmiyah Al Sharqiyah

  1. 1

    Small individual display cabinets

Most small shops and cooperatives here use compact cabinets with one or two metal shelves.

  2. 2

    Condensers in very tight spaces

Outdoor units are typically mounted in tight corners or back passages due to very limited shop-side space.

  3. 3

    Simple control systems

Small chillers typically have basic thermostats without advanced controls, but the temperature sensor is crucial for stable cooling.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Salmiyah Al Sharqiyah

  1. 1

Tell us exactly where the condenser is

Due to tight spaces, clarify the condenser location exactly, back wall, narrow passage, small roof, to avoid confusion.

  2. 2

Schedule with the shop owner for the right time

Agree with the team on the best time to avoid peak customer hours, and tell them if the condenser needs access from outside the shop.

  3. 3

    Confirm electrical connection safety

Check that the chiller's electrical connection is secure and stable, and let us know of any power issues or frequent outages.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My small shop's chiller glass fogs faster than large shops, is there a fix?

Fogging comes from high humidity and weak air curtain, so we clean the curtain and recommend better shop ventilation and thermostat adjustment.

My outdoor space is very limited and the condenser is in a tight corner, can you clean it?

Yes, but we recommend a preliminary visit to confirm safe and adequate access before scheduling the cleaning.

My small chiller runs all day without stopping, does it need special maintenance?

Yes, we recommend inspection every two weeks for the condenser, fans and sensors, as continuous operation speeds up dust buildup and wear.

The shop is near Jeddah's coast and salt affects pipes and metal, how often should we clean?

We recommend weekly condenser and pipe cleaning in summer and every ten days otherwise to prevent salt buildup and rapid corrosion.
