When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Al Tilal is a relatively modern district mixing shops, restaurants and cafés with spacious, contemporary layouts, where display fridges work under heavy daily use in a warm, humid setting. Coastal dust and moisture quickly affect the condenser and fans, and direct sun on the glass fronts substantially increases the cooling load. Regular maintenance here is essential to maintain even shelf temperatures and minimise stock loss.

Al Tilal lies in east Jeddah, a modern commercial district of shops, restaurants and cafés with glass frontages and contemporary design.

Display fridges here are typically medium to large, installed inside shops and restaurants, with outdoor condensers in the designated spaces behind units or on roofs.

The AC setup in Al Tilal

  1. 1

Display fridges built into shops and restaurant interiors

Most Al Tilal display fridges are built-in fixtures inside shops, with separate outdoor condensers connected by long copper lines.

  2. 2

    Multi-shelf units with glass doors

Contemporary shop design favours multi-shelf fridges with clear glass doors for maximum display, requiring even cold-air distribution across all levels.

  3. 3

    Outdoor condensers in dedicated spaces

Condensers are mounted in spaces behind shops or on roofs, exposed directly to sun, dust and coastal moisture.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Tilal

  1. 1

Tell us the outdoor condenser location

Confirm whether the condenser is behind the shop or on the roof, and ensure the team can access it safely on the visit day.

  2. 2

Coordinate with shop or restaurant management

Tell shop or restaurant management about the service time in advance, as opening or temporarily stopping the fridge may impact operations.

  3. 3

    Confirm electrical supply is available

Ensure the fridge's electrical circuit is safe and can be safely disconnected during maintenance.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

Modern Al Tilal shops have large display fridges; how often do they need servicing?

In Al Tilal's warm, humid, heavy-use setting, we recommend servicing at least every two months to check, clean and maintain the condenser, fans and air curtain.

Sun hits my shop's front all day; does that affect the display fridge?

Yes, direct sun on the glass substantially increases the cooling load and makes the refrigeration work harder, so regular condenser cleaning is essential.

Does coastal humidity and dust in Al Tilal affect the fridge's performance?

Yes, coastal dust and salt deposits accumulate quickly on the condenser and fans, reducing cooling efficiency and raising shelf temperatures unevenly.

How do we ensure shelf temperatures are even across all levels?

Our team measures temperature at each shelf with a dedicated gauge and inspects the air curtain, fans and internal distribution to confirm there are no cold or warm spots.
