When your display fridge needs attention

  1. 1

    Glass fogs or sweats

In Jeddah's humid air and air-conditioned shops, moisture collects on the door glass or thick frost builds up. The cause is usually the door frame heater resistance or the door seal; the site decides which.

  2. 2

    Stock spoiling or uneven temperatures

If upper shelves are warmer than lower ones, or open multideck zones read outside the required range, a fan fault or blocked cold-air path is likely. We measure shelf temperatures along the cabinet and find where the fault lies.

  3. 3

Hot condenser in a poorly cooled shop

A display cabinet throws a lot of heat into the shop floor. When the shop's cooling is insufficient, the condenser air temperature rises, the compressor works harder and the cabinet loses its chill. The fix starts with assessing the cabinet's location and the ventilation around it.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Send a photo

WhatsApp a photo of the cabinet, your district and a brief description of the problem; the team can prepare the right tools before the visit.

  2. 2

    Site survey and measurement

The technician measures shelf temperatures, inspects the condenser, fans, air curtain and door seals, and reviews the ventilation around the cabinet before touching anything.

  3. 3

    Diagnosis and explanation

After measuring we tell you exactly what is wrong and what needs to be done, and you approve the work before the technician starts.

  4. 4

    Repair and verify

We fix the fault, then re-measure shelf temperatures and verify the air curtain, lighting and fans before leaving the shop.

What sets this district apart

Sulaitah has small to mid-sized commercial centres and several food shops and cafés, with a hot, dry climate most of the year that strains the cooling system hard. The fridges here run heavy daily cycles because the shops never stop service, and the external heat and rising humidity speed up dirt buildup on the condenser and lower cooling efficiency and glass clarity. Regular checks on the condenser and fans keep shelf temperatures even and protect product quality.

Sulaitah lies in north-east Jeddah, a busy commercial area with food shops, cafés and small service centres.

Most shops here use separate display fridges for each product line, typically positioned in window fronts exposed to sun and heat.

The AC setup in Sulaitah

  1. 1

Separate display fridges per product section

Food shops in Sulaitah typically use independent fridges for each product line, such as dairy, drinks and pastries, to simplify management and temperature control.

  2. 2

Display fridges positioned on exposed frontages

Most fridges are mounted on front windows exposed to direct sunlight throughout the day, increasing strain on the cooling system.

  3. 3

Limited electrical circuits in small shops

Some smaller shops have limited electrical circuits, so we confirm that the fridge load matches the available power capacity.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Sulaitah

  1. 1

Confirm the fridge location and sun exposure

Tell us exactly where the fridge is placed and whether it gets direct sun all day or part of it, because this affects the maintenance schedule.

  2. 2

Provide working space around the fridge

Make sure there is enough space behind and beside the fridge to access the condenser and fans easily, especially if it sits in a tight window front.

  3. 3

Pick the best time for the visit

Arrange a visit time with us that does not disrupt your business, preferably during slower shop hours.

FAQ

Questions about Display fridges & chillers

Why does thick frost build up on open multideck shelves?

An open multideck relies on a cold air curtain to keep shop air out. If the fan weakens or nearby AC airflow deflects the curtain, shop humidity enters the cabinet and frost builds. We check fan speed, air curtain direction and temperature at several points along the cabinet to find exactly where the fault is.

Does shop temperature affect how the display fridge performs?

Yes, and in Jeddah this is more noticeable in summer when the heat load rises. The condenser rejects heat into shop air; when that air is warm, the compressor works harder and shelf temperatures rise. We assess the cabinet's position and its distance from AC supply diffusers as part of the survey.

The cabinet lighting is dim or flickering; is that something you handle?

Yes, cabinet lighting is part of the service. Internal lighting matters to how your product looks, and a wiring fault there can affect other circuits. We check the wiring and driver and replace the faulty component as part of the job.

My display fridge is an unfamiliar brand; can you still work on it?

Display cabinet faults are mostly common across brands: refrigeration circuit, fan, air curtain, door seal, frame heater. We diagnose by measurement, not by brand. If a replacement part is needed we tell you before going further and you decide.

Can a new display cabinet be installed in an existing shop?

Yes, but the site decides what is needed. We assess the electrical supply, drain route and cabinet position relative to AC diffusers before installation; where the cabinet sits affects the air curtain and the shop's overall cooling load. The survey sets out exactly what is required before any work begins.

My display fridge fogs up constantly, is that normal for Sulaitah?

The intense heat and the temperature gap between the fridge interior and the hot outside air causes condensation to form quickly on the glass. Cleaning the condenser and fans improves cooling and cuts fogging significantly.

The sun hits my display fridge all day long, does it need more frequent servicing?

Yes, direct sun exposure increases the cooling load, so checking the condenser and fans every two months is better than waiting for a breakdown.

The shelf temperatures in my fridge are uneven, what causes that?

Uneven temperatures usually mean the air curtain is weak or the condenser is blocked with dirt. A full check redistributes cold air evenly across every shelf.

My shop runs all day, can you service the fridge without shutting it down?

Yes, most cleaning and maintenance checks are done while the fridge runs, but we need to coordinate with you in advance to find a time that does not disrupt sales.
