Clean ducts, no broken ceilings

AC duct cleaning in Harat Al Sham

In Harat Al Sham, old downtown Jeddah, duct cleaning is vital in closely built residential and commercial blocks. Older, short ducts and branches squeezed between narrow walls collect coastal dust and moisture, so we clean them through available access points without damaging the historic walls.

When your home ducts need cleaning

  1. 1

    Cool air that carries dust

You turn the AC on and see a puff of dust from the grilles settling on surfaces. The cause is usually buildup on the inner duct walls, not just the grille face, and wiping the grille alone does not fix it.

  2. 2

A smell when the AC runs

A smell appears the moment you start the AC, then fades or lingers in the room. The source is often moisture in the return-air box or organic matter in a branch duct, and mechanical cleaning is the first step before any other treatment.

  3. 3

A concealed unit that has run for years

Concealed or ceiling-hidden units often run for years without the duct network being opened. In Jeddah's dusty, humid air, dust and moisture bind together and cake inside branch ducts, reducing how evenly the air distributes through the rooms.

Who it's for

  • Living in a villa with ceiling-concealed AC units

We survey the branch duct layout on each floor and clean the grilles and return-air box through existing access points without touching the ceiling finish or walls.

    Ask on WhatsApp
  • Taking over an older flat with ducts never cleaned

We start with a survey of the return-air box and branch ducts to assess the buildup, then clean the full network including the return box before you move in.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Survey the network

The technician checks the branch duct layout, available access points and the return-air box to plan the cleaning method that suits your network without breaking any ceiling.

  2. 2

    Protect the room

Before removing any grille we cover furniture and floors so that loosened dust does not fall on the room contents while we work.

  3. 3

    Clean ducts and return box

We remove deposits from branch ducts through access points and open grille positions, then clean the return-air box where most of the heavy dust settles before reaching the unit.

  4. 4

    Refit and test

We refit all grilles, run the unit and check that air reaches each room evenly, then leave the space clean when we finish.

What sets this district apart

Harat Al Sham is one of Jeddah's oldest neighbourhoods, with closely built residential and commercial blocks, narrow streets and relatively low ceilings. Most buildings are 50+ years old, with short, narrow central ducts squeezed between load-bearing walls. Sea moisture and fine dust in the air enter ducts easily, and rapid accumulation reduces airflow and speeds mould growth. Duct cleaning here requires care around old walls and knowledge of these narrow historic duct designs.

Harat Al Sham sits in Jeddah's historic downtown, a district of very old, tightly packed buildings with narrow streets and high coastal humidity.

Most old buildings have short, narrow ducts connected directly to central units, with limited access openings due to tight construction.

The AC setup in Harat Al Sham

  1. 1

Short, narrow ducts directly connected to the unit

Ducts in old buildings are very short and narrow because units are close to flats, squeezed between old load-bearing walls.

  2. 2

    Branches running between adjacent walls

Metal branches run through tight, adjacent walls with minimal space, and dust accumulates quickly due to the confinement.

  3. 3

Return boxes confined in low ceilings

Return air boxes sit in low, tight ceilings, and accessing them requires care around old walls and connections.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Harat Al Sham

  1. 1

Confirm nearest parking and a safe entry route

Downtown streets are very narrow, so tell us the nearest parking spot and best building entry route before the visit.

  2. 2

Inform the shop or flat owner of the visit time in advance

If the unit is in a shop or rented flat, tell the owner or tenant of the scheduled time to avoid clashing with use.

  3. 3

Confirm access to ceiling openings can be reached safely

Ceiling access openings may be surrounded by stored items or old wiring, so ensure the team can reach them safely without damaging walls or connections.

FAQ

Questions about AC duct cleaning

Can you clean ducts without opening the false ceiling?

In most homes we work through the room grilles and existing access points without touching the ceiling. If the network is fully sealed with no access, the technician explains at the survey what can be reached and whether anything extra is needed.

Is cleaning the room grilles enough on its own?

Cleaning the grilles improves appearance, but most of the buildup is inside the branch ducts and the return-air box. Grille cleaning alone does not address what the airflow carries out, so our work covers the grille, the duct and the return box together.

Do we need to leave the house while you clean and sanitise?

Usually not. We work room by room, cover furniture and floors, and vacuum the dust straight out of the duct so it does not spread through the house. If anyone at home is sensitive to dust or smells, we suggest they stay out of the room we are working in until it is finished and aired.

What if one room still gets less air than the others after cleaning?

Low airflow to one room after cleaning may point to a restriction in that branch duct or a damper that is not set correctly. The technician checks this during the final run and tells you the cause and next step, whether that is a damper adjustment or something else.

Does duct cleaning improve how evenly the cold air spreads across rooms?

Heavy buildup inside a branch duct narrows its cross-section and reduces the air reaching that room. Removing the deposit restores the original opening and improves distribution. If a difference between rooms remains after cleaning, the cause may be a damper position or the network design, and the technician explains this during the final check.

The building is very old, can you reach short ducts without breaking anything?

Yes, we work through existing ceiling or wall openings with great care around old load-bearing walls, with no drilling or enlarging of openings.

The street outside is very narrow, how do you bring equipment in?

Our team carries cleaning tools in by hand and selects the nearest possible parking spot before the visit, coordinating with you on the best entry route.

Sea humidity makes mould grow fast in the ducts, is this normal here?

Yes, proximity to the sea and closely built blocks increase indoor humidity, and fine dust plus moisture cause rapid mould growth in ducts and return boxes.

The AC sometimes smells bad, is it from the ducts?

Yes, dust, moisture and mould buildup in ducts and return boxes cause bad smells, and thorough cleaning of both ducts and box clearly eliminates the odour.
