When duct quality makes the difference
- 1
Duct losing cold air
An open seam or an unsealed joint loses cold air before it reaches the room. We close every seam with Foster sealant in the workshop before shipping, so the seal does not depend on site work alone.
- 2
Condensation wetting the ceiling
In Jeddah's humid air any bare metal surface sweats and drips onto the ceiling or damages the unit insulation. We wrap with Kimmco or Armaflex at the thickness the site calls for.
- 3
A project with many duct runs
A villa or commercial building needs main trunks, branches and plenums in several sizes. We make sections in the workshop numbered to the site plan, so the hanging crew assembles without cutting or adjusting.
Who it's for
Replacing your villa's AC and need new ductwork
We make supply and return trunks and plenums to your villa's dimensions, insulated and numbered, ready for the hanging crew without any on-site cutting.

How we work
How we work
- 1
Send sizes or drawings
Send us the duct drawing or a list of section sizes. If sizes are not fixed yet, we agree a site survey before production starts.
- 2
Review sizes and sheet gauge
We check each section's dimensions and pick the right sheet thickness for the duct size, then confirm quantities with you before cutting begins.
- 3
Fabricate, seal and insulate
We cut and fold the G90 galvanised sheet, lock the seams with Foster sealant, and wrap each section with Kimmco or Armaflex insulation in the workshop before shipment.
- 4
Number and deliver
We mark each section with its position and dimension from the site plan, so the hanging team identifies every piece without confusion and starts work on arrival.
Workshop-made or site-cut duct?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Sealing | Foster on every seam in workshop | Uneven site sealing |
| Insulation | Kimmco or Armaflex fully wrapped | Partial or delayed wrap |
| Sheet gauge | Chosen for each duct size | One gauge for everything |
| Assembly time | Numbered, assembled straight away | Cut and adjust on site |
| Joint fit | Workshop dimensions close every joint | Hand trimming breaks the seal |

What sets this district apart
Southern Housing is a large modern residential project with hundreds of flats and villas on a regular grid with unified central systems needing strong, reliable standard ducts. On-site knife-cut ducts lose cold air rapidly and create damp spots in south Jeddah's heat and high humidity, so we make sealed and insulated runs in our workshop to standard dimensions before direct project delivery.
Southern Housing sits in south Jeddah, a large modern residential project of flats and villas on a regular grid with unified systems.
The project uses unified central cooling units with standardised duct runs distributing cold air across hundreds of residential units.
The AC setup in Southern Housing
- 1
Villa ducts with unified horizontal runs
Southern Housing villas need unified standard-size horizontal ducts under the slab or in false ceilings for cold air distribution.
- 2
Flat ducts with unified vertical runs
Project flats need unified standard-size vertical ducts in wall chases to carry cold air from lower to upper floors.
- 3
Unified central ducts for apartment towers
Residential towers in the project need unified central ducts with standard dimensions distributed across dozens of flats per tower.

FAQ
Questions about AC duct manufacturing
How do you make sure the duct does not leak air at the seams?
We close the long seams with a tight mechanical lock as the sheet is formed, then seal every seam and every joint between sections with Foster sealant before insulating. Sections leave the workshop with matching flanges that tighten evenly when hung, because any small gap in cold duct means lost air and a point where condensation forms.
Does the duct arrive ready to hang, or is it assembled on site?
Sections arrive fabricated, insulated, sealed and numbered to the route drawing, so the fitters know where each piece goes without cutting or altering on site. What is left on site is joining the sections, fixing them to the hangers and connecting the unit and outlets, which shortens the work above the ceiling.
Do you make plenums for cassette and cabinet units?
Yes, we fabricate plenums for both types. A cassette unit plenum is measured to match the unit's outlet frame exactly so air reaches the branch runs without leaking at the connection. A cabinet unit plenum is made to carry both the supply and return paths if the design calls for it. Both types are insulated with Kimmco or Armaflex and sealed with Foster sealant before they leave the workshop.
Can you manufacture duct for a large commercial project?
Yes. The workshop is equipped to fabricate large supply and return trunk runs suited to commercial, government and industrial buildings. Each section is made to the project drawings, numbered and delivered ready to hang after insulation and sealing. When engineering drawings are available, the technical team reviews them before fabrication starts to confirm that the duct dimensions fit the ceiling voids on site.
Why are the duct sections insulated in the workshop before delivery?
The duct carries cold air through a ceiling void that may be hot and humid. Without external insulation, water vapour condenses on the cold sheet and drips onto the false ceiling or the goods below. So each section is wrapped in Kimmco or Armaflex in our workshop and every edge and joint is sealed with Foster sealant before delivery.
The project has both flats and villas, do your ducts fit the different designs?
Yes, we make standardised ducts for each building type in the project. Villas need horizontal runs to unified dimensions, flats need vertical ducts to matching dimensions too, and the whole project benefits from standardised production.
Hundreds of units here, how do you coordinate delivery and installation?
We divide delivery into phases matching your project schedule, supply ducts with clear numbering per phase, and coordinate delivery timing with your installation readiness.
South Jeddah's extreme heat is hard on a project this size, how do you keep ducts efficient?
Full insulation with heavy-duty foam and Foster sealing at every joint is fundamental. We manufacture ducts to high-pressure standards able to withstand extreme heat and high humidity over the long term.
Each residential unit has different cooling needs, how do you handle that variation?
We make unified ducts for each unit type (studio, large flat, villa), with each type getting standard-dimension ducts matching its cooling needs.
