Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

Don't see your district?Message us. We most likely cover it.

What sets this district apart

Al Atheer's buildings are relatively newer and spread across larger plots, allowing for complex central AC systems with multiple takeoffs, bends and transitions. Workshop fabrication from galvanized or aluminium sheet lets us measure from site or drawings, so the duct arrives ready to hang with no air loss or efficiency drop.

Al Atheer lies in south Jeddah, a district of newer villas and apartment blocks spread across wider open plots than older areas.

Most villas and apartment blocks in Al Atheer use complex central duct systems rather than separate split units.

The AC setup in Al Atheer

  1. 1

Central distributed duct in modern villas

Most Al Atheer villas use a single duct run from a central fan with multiple branches feeding each room and living area.

  2. 2

    Multi-unit systems in residential blocks

Al Atheer apartment blocks often need more than one duct system to serve multiple units, with complex transition pipes and offsets.

  3. 3

Aluminium or galvanized duct by site environment

We choose the material based on the duct's outdoor exposure and salt or humidity levels; galvanized sheet is stronger near coastal zones.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Atheer

  1. 1

Bring engineering drawings or a system sketch

Drawings help us calculate exact measurements and the number of branches and transitions needed before fabrication starts.

  2. 2

Confirm the outdoor unit location and duct path

Tell us where the outdoor unit will sit and the path the duct will take inside your villa or building before we visit.

  3. 3

Ensure access to ceilings or plenum spaces

Verify that your villa's ceilings or hidden plenum spaces are safe and accessible before we install the pipes and duct.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

Why can't the duct be cut on site instead of in the workshop?

On-site cutting cannot hold the precision needed for complex joints, whereas workshop fabrication ensures exact dimensions and zero air loss at every seam.

How do you measure the duct required for my central system?

We measure directly on site during design or use the building's engineering drawings, then fabricate each duct section to exact dimensions in the workshop.

Does fabricated duct last longer than duct cut on site?

Duct fabricated from quality galvanized or aluminium sheet lasts for many years, and tight joints maintain system efficiency without gradual leakage.

What is the difference between rectangular and round duct in a modern home system?

Rectangular duct fits tight spaces and wall cavities, while round duct suits main distribution lines. We choose the type based on your building's layout.
