Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?
- 1
A contractor with project-specific sizes
Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.
- 2
Fittings too awkward to cut on site
Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.
- 3
Extending or renovating an existing duct network
You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.
Who it's for
Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes
We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

- Elbows transitions and takeoffs
- Tight seams to SMACNA
- Labelled sections ready to hang
How we work
How we work
- 1
Take measurements
A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.
- 2
Fabricate sections and fittings
We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.
- 3
Label and prepare for delivery
We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.
- 4
Deliver to site
We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.
Workshop fabrication or site cutting?
| Alrabih | The usual way | |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensional accuracy | Workshop machines, tight dims | Hand variation on site |
| Complex fittings | Correct elbows and transitions | Distorted, leaking air |
| Seam quality | Tight lock, low leakage | Gaps weaken pressure |
| Site schedule | Arrives ready to hang | Extra time and site noise |
| Salt and humidity | Aluminium where site demands | One sheet regardless |

What sets this district apart
Al Farouq has large retail shops, medium-sized buildings and shopping centres with layouts that differ from industrial plants, requiring AC systems that distribute air evenly across sales halls and storage areas. Cutting duct on site can leave gaps or uneven air distribution, affecting customer comfort and product preservation. Pre-fabricating duct to the drawings ensures balanced air spread and cuts the cost of field adjustments.
Al Farouq in south Jeddah is a mixed commercial zone with retail stores, shopping centres and distribution warehouses.
Most shops and shopping centres in Al Farouq use rectangular duct with branches evenly distributed across sales floors and upper levels.
The AC setup in Al Farouq
- 1
Vertical duct with horizontal branches per floor
Multi-storey shops need a main vertical duct between floors with horizontal branches that evenly distribute air on each level.
- 2
Small portable sections for assembly on site
We break large duct into smaller sections easy to carry through narrow passages and doorways, then assemble them on site.
- 3
Tight joints to prevent air leakage
Large shops need efficient cooling, and tight joints ensure no cool air is lost before reaching the sales halls.

FAQ
Questions about Duct fabrication
Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?
Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.
What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?
G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.
Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?
Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.
How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?
Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.
Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?
Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.
Our shop spans several floors, how do you run AC to each level?
We fabricate a vertical duct running through the floors with horizontal branches to each level, calibrated precisely to ensure even air distribution across all areas.
Narrow passages between shops limit large pipe movement, how do you handle it?
We fabricate the duct in smaller, lighter sections in the workshop that can be moved through narrow passages and assembled easily on site.
Shops need strong cooling to keep customers comfortable, does the duct maintain temperature?
Duct fabricated precisely from high-grade galvanised material reduces heat loss between the unit and outlets, noticeably improving the system's efficiency.
How do you ensure the duct connects to the central unit without problems on site?
We measure the central unit openings precisely and fabricate the takeoffs to match exactly, arriving ready for direct connection with no delay or field changes.
