Dedicated duct workshop

Duct fabrication in Al Mawj

In Al Mawj, south Jeddah, new residential and hotel projects need precision ductwork fabrication for central systems. Alrabih fabricates rectangular and round duct in the workshop from galvanized or aluminium sheet, measured on site, so it arrives ready to hang with no air loss.

Who needs workshop-fabricated duct?

  1. 1

    A contractor with project-specific sizes

Your project has non-standard sizes or volumes too large for site cutting. We fabricate rectangular and round sections from your drawings at exact dimensions, labelled and ready to hang when they reach the site.

  2. 2

Fittings too awkward to cut on site

Elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs come out distorted when cut by hand on site, leaking air and creating noise in the line. We make them in the workshop at the right dimensions with tight seams.

  3. 3

Extending or renovating an existing duct network

You need new branches, a damaged section replaced or a fitting that matches an old duct size. We measure the existing network on site and fabricate the pieces to match what is already there.

Who it's for

  • Building a facility that needs non-standard duct sizes

We read your project drawings and fabricate all sections and fittings at exact dimensions from G90 or aluminium sheet, labelled and ready to hang the moment they reach your site.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Take measurements

A technician visits the site or you send us the drawings; we list every duct section needed, its size and the correct sheet thickness for that section.

  2. 2

    Fabricate sections and fittings

We cut, form and lock the sheet in the workshop, including all elbows, transitions, offsets and takeoffs, and each section comes out at its exact dimension.

  3. 3

    Label and prepare for delivery

We number every section and fitting against the assembly plan so the installation crew knows exactly where each piece goes, with no guessing on site.

  4. 4

    Deliver to site

We deliver the duct to your Jeddah site protected and ready to hang. If you need an installation crew, we can arrange that as a separate step.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Mawj is a rapidly growing area with new residential and hotel projects and tall residential blocks, all of which depend on central AC systems that need complex ductwork runs through ceilings and walls. Measuring duct manually on site after construction leads to poor fit and significant air loss, but prefabricating in the workshop ensures every run arrives at its correct dimensions with smooth joints and no air leakage.

Al Mawj is in south Jeddah, a rapidly growing urban area with large residential and hotel projects.

Most new central systems here require complex rectangular ductwork with multiple bends and offsets to serve residential units and hotel suites.

The AC setup in Al Mawj

  1. 1

Complex rectangular duct for central systems

Large new projects require complex rectangular duct with multiple offsets and bends for horizontal and vertical runs through ceilings and walls.

  2. 2

    Round duct for secondary branches

Secondary runs and individual hotel suites often use lighter round duct that is simpler to install and less obtrusive.

  3. 3

    Transitions and precise takeoffs

Large central systems need smooth transitions between different diameters and precisely placed takeoffs to distribute air evenly throughout the building.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Mawj

  1. 1

    Obtain the contractor's updated plans

Before the visit, ensure the contractor has current architectural and mechanical drawings showing ductwork routes and potential obstructions.

  2. 2

Coordinate team timing with the construction schedule

Large projects require coordination with the contractor to ensure the measurement visit and later installation fit the different construction phases.

  3. 3

Mark access points and temporary storage

Make sure our team can access installation areas and ceilings, and designate a safe space to temporarily store the fabricated duct before fitting.

FAQ

Questions about Duct fabrication

Can you fabricate from drawings without visiting the site?

Yes, when the drawings are clear and carry the actual as-built dimensions. If a dimension is uncertain or a field change has been made, we prefer a site visit to avoid a fabricated piece that does not fit. We discuss the better approach with you before starting work.

What is the difference between galvanized and aluminium sheet for duct?

G90 galvanized sheet is the standard choice for interior duct: strong and suited to a range of pressures. Aluminium is lighter and handles Jeddah's coastal humidity and salt air better, making it right for some exposed applications or where structural load is a limiting factor. The correct choice depends on the site.

Can you make elbows and transitions to match an existing duct network?

Yes. We measure the existing network on site to match sizes precisely, whether you need a new branch added, a damaged fitting replaced or an extension tied into the original ductwork. The right approach is confirmed after the site visit.

How do you choose sheet thickness for each section?

Thickness follows section size: a large duct needs heavier sheet to hold its shape under pressure, a small one can use lighter material. We apply the SMACNA requirements to each section in the project individually, not a single thickness across the whole job.

Does Jeddah's humidity and salt air affect which sheet material to use?

Yes, particularly for sections exposed to outdoor air or installed near fresh-air intakes. G90 galvanized sheet performs well inside the building, but aluminium is the better choice where duct is in continuous contact with Jeddah's humid, salt-laden air. The site survey determines the right material for each section.

What is the difference between prefabricated and site-made ductwork?

Site-made duct often drifts from precise dimensions and causes air loss at joints, while workshop-fabricated duct arrives at correct size with airtight joints and no leakage.

How do you measure ductwork for large new projects?

We take field measurements on site or work from the contractor's drawings, calculating every bend and offset to ensure precise fit during installation.

Does the coastal humidity affect metal ductwork?

Al Mawj is near the sea and humidity accelerates metal corrosion, so we use heavy galvanized sheet or aluminium to resist long-term moisture damage.

Do heavy electrical runs affect where the ductwork gets fitted?

Yes, we coordinate with the contractor and electrician to mark ductwork placement that avoids clashing with main electrical circuits and large pipes.
