When does a factory need a specialist system?

  1. 1

    Machine heat exhausting the workers

Compressors, motors and furnaces push out steady heat that scattered split units cannot handle. We assess every heat source on site and design a system that removes that heat and delivers cooled air precisely where people work.

  2. 2

A high roof that traps hot air

Hot air rises and collects under the roof while workers suffer at floor level. Evaporator positions, airflow angles and unit sizing all depend on the ceiling height and building shape, and the site survey decides each of these.

  3. 3

    Production dust destroying equipment

In wood, metal and plastic factories, coarse dust enters units and damages compressors and coils. We select equipment suited to industrial environments and design air paths that separate cooling air from contaminated process air wherever possible.

Who it's for

  • Building a new factory that needs HVAC

We join at design stage to fix unit positions, duct routes and extraction before the roof is cast and machines are installed, so the system is built into the structure from the start.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Industrial site survey

Our team visits the factory during operation to measure actual heat from machines, map worker zones and critical processes, record ceiling heights and identify possible duct routes.

  2. 2

    System design

We design central plant, distributed units or a combination to suit the factory, and fix the positions of extraction and ventilation units, duct sizes and damper locations before you approve the work.

  3. 3

    Fabrication and installation

We fabricate duct in our own workshop from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, mount units and insulate pipework with Armaflex and Kimmco materials.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and scheduled maintenance

We commission the system, check airflow distribution, refrigerant pressure and damper balance, then set up a preventive and corrective maintenance contract timed to fit around your production shifts.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Al Amwaj factories range from vehicle maintenance workshops to light assembly and packaging shops, with spacious layouts and high ceilings that allow large central cooling units and efficient air distribution. Machine heat and heavy equipment demand strong ventilation to remove humidity and fumes, with regular maintenance because production dust and oils block filters rapidly.

Al Amwaj lies in north Jeddah, an industrial and commercial zone with spacious layouts and high ceilings suited to factories and workshops.

Most factories here rely on large central cooling units because the spacious layouts and high ceilings allow unified air distribution across the floor.

The AC setup in Al Amwaj

  1. 1

    High-capacity central cooling units

Wide factories here require powerful central units that distribute cool air efficiently across the entire shop floor.

  2. 2

Strong ventilation to remove fumes and humidity

A separate ventilation system runs alongside cooling to extract fumes and moisture from machines and heavy equipment.

  3. 3

    Heavy-duty filters with quick replacement

Industrial dust and oils demand robust filters with a design that allows quick replacement without halting production.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Al Amwaj

  1. 1

    Identify machine and equipment locations

Tell us where your main machines, heavy equipment and production lines sit so we can assess their heat output and cooling distribution accurately.

  2. 2

Agree on maintenance timing outside production hours

Confirm with us the best time for our team to visit and inspect the system without affecting your production schedule.

  3. 3

Ensure access to outdoor and rooftop units

Check that roofs and outdoor areas where large units are installed are safe and accessible for our maintenance team.

FAQ

Questions about Factory HVAC

Can you cool just the worker zones without cooling the whole factory?

Yes, and we do it often. We design spot cooling for workstations or worker walkways using independent units or directed duct runs, rather than trying to cool the entire building volume. The right approach depends on the site and the process, and the survey decides it.

How do you handle heavy industrial dust in Jeddah?

We select units with a protection rating suited to the industrial environment and route airflow away from dust sources where the layout allows. In scheduled maintenance we inspect and clean coils, compressors and filters before deposits build up and affect unit performance.

Do you fabricate the large ducts a factory needs?

Yes, in our own workshop we fabricate round and rectangular duct to any size the design calls for, from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, including plenums, transitions and dampers needed to control air distribution.

Can you do maintenance between production shifts?

Yes, when we set up the preventive maintenance contract we agree times that fit your production schedule, whether between shifts or on rest days. The aim is that production lines are never stopped because of maintenance work.

What is the difference between process ventilation and worker-zone air conditioning?

Process ventilation targets heat and fumes produced by machinery and production lines, using exhaust fans and calculated fresh-air inlets sized to the heat load at each source. Worker-zone air conditioning aims to maintain a tolerable temperature at floor level without cooling the full volume of the building. A site survey of each factory decides which approach fits each area.

How do you design an HVAC system that handles continuous machine and heavy equipment heat?

We assess the heat from each machine and production line, then select cooling units and capacity sufficient for the total load, with strong ventilation to remove fumes and humidity from the floor.

Our wide spaces and high ceilings, how does that affect the design?

High ceilings and wide spaces work in your favour, allowing unified air distribution from powerful central units and reducing hot spots on the production floor.

Dust and oils from the machines clog filters quickly, how do you manage this?

We install heavy-duty filters with easy replacement access, and set a maintenance schedule to clean or change them weekly or fortnightly depending on your production intensity.

How do you keep the system running during production shifts without downtime?

We design the system with flexibility so parts can be serviced without shutting down the whole installation, and we schedule maintenance outside production hours or during planned breaks.
