When does a factory need a specialist system?

  1. 1

    Machine heat exhausting the workers

Compressors, motors and furnaces push out steady heat that scattered split units cannot handle. We assess every heat source on site and design a system that removes that heat and delivers cooled air precisely where people work.

  2. 2

A high roof that traps hot air

Hot air rises and collects under the roof while workers suffer at floor level. Evaporator positions, airflow angles and unit sizing all depend on the ceiling height and building shape, and the site survey decides each of these.

  3. 3

    Production dust destroying equipment

In wood, metal and plastic factories, coarse dust enters units and damages compressors and coils. We select equipment suited to industrial environments and design air paths that separate cooling air from contaminated process air wherever possible.

Who it's for

  • Building a new factory that needs HVAC

We join at design stage to fix unit positions, duct routes and extraction before the roof is cast and machines are installed, so the system is built into the structure from the start.

How we work

How we work

  1. 1

    Industrial site survey

Our team visits the factory during operation to measure actual heat from machines, map worker zones and critical processes, record ceiling heights and identify possible duct routes.

  2. 2

    System design

We design central plant, distributed units or a combination to suit the factory, and fix the positions of extraction and ventilation units, duct sizes and damper locations before you approve the work.

  3. 3

    Fabrication and installation

We fabricate duct in our own workshop from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, run Mueller copper in runs of up to 30 metres without welded joints, mount units and insulate pipework with Armaflex and Kimmco materials.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and scheduled maintenance

We commission the system, check airflow distribution, refrigerant pressure and damper balance, then set up a preventive and corrective maintenance contract timed to fit around your production shifts.

Some of our work

Ductwork, rooftop units and diffusers, from work we've completed in Jeddah.

  • Galvanized rectangular duct trunk with branch takeoffs and round diffusers, hung from a black ceiling, a Carrier unit visible behind — interior finishing stage.
  • Round diffusers and a spiral duct trunk in a tiled stairwell service shaft.
  • Rooftop ductwork and an exhaust fan, with Jeddah buildings in the background.
  • Rooftop packaged AC units with rectangular duct transitions, city buildings behind.
  • Insulated rooftop duct run beside a packaged unit, a warehouse roof in the background.
  • A grid of round diffusers in an open-plan office ceiling, mid-construction.
  • An insulated rooftop duct elbow, against a mountainous backdrop.
  • Large insulated ductwork running along a factory ceiling, with workers visible below.
  • A yellow round diffuser mid-installation, with spiral duct and a suspended ceiling grid.
  • Duct insulation wrap in progress on a construction site, bare duct still exposed.
  • A black-painted duct trunk with round diffusers and track lighting, in a finished retail interior.
  • An indoor AHU unit connected to round ductwork in a mechanical plant room, exposed concrete ceiling.

What sets this district apart

Obaid has a dense industrial zone with medium and large factories and storage warehouses, where high ceilings and heavy machinery create extreme internal heat, especially in summer. The cooling and ventilation system must cover vast spaces, handle production dust and humidity, and cannot be shut down during production hours. Regular maintenance and quick filter checks are essential because dust clogs ducts and filters fast.

Obaid lies in Jeddah's industrial south, a zone of factories and storage with very high ceilings and continuous production running.

Most factories here use central cooling units or chiller systems to cool air at a single point, then distribute it through large ducts.

The AC setup in Obaid

  1. 1

Central chiller system with large ducts

Large factories in Obaid rely on a central cooling unit that chills water or air, then distributes it through wide metal ducts across the entire plant.

  2. 2

Separate cooling units in production zones

Some factories divide the space into zones and place a cooling unit in each zone based on production needs and local heat.

  3. 3

Ventilation system combined with cooling to remove dust

Dusty factories need strong ventilation to expel polluted air, plus high-efficiency filters to protect workers.

Before the visit

Before our visit in Obaid

  1. 1

Share the factory layout and total area

Send us a sketch or photos of the factory showing floors, areas, and main machines, so we can calculate cooling needs accurately.

  2. 2

    Identify proposed installation areas

Confirm there is enough space on the roof or near the factory for outdoor units and ducts, and tell us about any obstacles.

  3. 3

Coordinate maintenance times with factory management

Agree with management on the best times for our visits and maintenance to avoid disrupting production schedule.

FAQ

Questions about Factory HVAC

Can you cool just the worker zones without cooling the whole factory?

Yes, and we do it often. We design spot cooling for workstations or worker walkways using independent units or directed duct runs, rather than trying to cool the entire building volume. The right approach depends on the site and the process, and the survey decides it.

How do you handle heavy industrial dust in Jeddah?

We select units with a protection rating suited to the industrial environment and route airflow away from dust sources where the layout allows. In scheduled maintenance we inspect and clean coils, compressors and filters before deposits build up and affect unit performance.

Do you fabricate the large ducts a factory needs?

Yes, in our own workshop we fabricate round and rectangular duct to any size the design calls for, from G90 galvanised or aluminium sheet to SMACNA standards, including plenums, transitions and dampers needed to control air distribution.

Can you do maintenance between production shifts?

Yes, when we set up the preventive maintenance contract we agree times that fit your production schedule, whether between shifts or on rest days. The aim is that production lines are never stopped because of maintenance work.

What is the difference between process ventilation and worker-zone air conditioning?

Process ventilation targets heat and fumes produced by machinery and production lines, using exhaust fans and calculated fresh-air inlets sized to the heat load at each source. Worker-zone air conditioning aims to maintain a tolerable temperature at floor level without cooling the full volume of the building. A site survey of each factory decides which approach fits each area.

How do we choose an AC system for a factory with very high ceilings?

It depends on the factory size, the machines inside, and your production heat. We visit to measure the height and area to cool, then design a system suited to your needs.

Filters get dirty fast from dust, how often should we change them?

In a dusty production setting, filters may need checking weekly or fortnightly. We set a maintenance schedule that fits your operation and monitor performance regularly.

Can we cool the factory without stopping production?

Yes, we design the system and maintenance around your production schedule. Checks and cleaning happen during short breaks or planned downtime.

Where are the outdoor units mounted in large factories?

Usually on the factory roof or in a dedicated area near it. We check the roof's strength and available space before installation, because factory units are large and very heavy.
